Some leaked slides bring us two new members of Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA lineup – and they are both running Windows Phone 7. The two new phones are called XPERIA X7 and XPERIA X7 mini and they offer specs that should make current-gen WP7 devices shiver (if the specs turn out to be the real deal)…
The Microsoft KIN phones may have become zombies as they are apparently back from the dead – and into a leaked Verizon roadmap for Q4. The zombified KIN One and Two have lost their pricey data plan – maybe now they’ll be more competitive. Mind you, you’d be still buying a canceled product…
LG (like pretty much every tech company around) has been working on a tablet of their own. But they made a hard choice – Android 2.2 Froyo is just not suitable for tablets they said (Google said the same thing) and even though the hardware was ready, the tablet got delayed, waiting on the software.
And Android 3.0 Honeycomb seems to be it – a new leak gives us a peek at some juicy details of the LG tablet, or the LG Optimus Pad, as it will be called… Read more »
Leading companies are said to announce their first Chrome-powered smartbooks later in November 2010. But what is even more exciting, word is Google is about to present its own notebook based on the Chrome operating system as well.
Would you sacrifice the Galaxy Tab 3G connectivity if that would get you a better deal? Well if you would, Samsung will give you that opportunity with the GT-P1010 – a Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab. We first told you about the new device yesterday but only now we can confirm its product code.
It’s no secret that Verizon is strongly committed to LTE and the first handsets supporting the standard should hit the shelves in a few weeks. It’s only now though that we are getting a hint of what they might look like.
The sleek LG device pictured above is one of the first additions to the LTE army and if its specs are as good as its looks it might turn out to be a real killer. So far we can only confirm the Android OS, an HD-capable camera and Wi-Fi connectivity. Read more »
We already know the names of the next two upcoming Android versions – 3.0 Gingerbread and 3.5 Honeycomb. As Google is following an alphabetical order, it’s no big secret the 4.0 version will be called I-something. Well, a today’s leak has it that the “I” release will be codenamed “Ice Cream”.
We are pretty sure someone in the Motorola’s US division screwed up big time uploading the DROID 2 Global info on the site before the official announcement. The page was removed almost instantly but most of the information has already escaped in the wild.
The successor of the Verizon’s DROID 2 – DROID 2 Global – is a dual mode CDMA/GSM device with slightly improved specs. It will pack the world’s first 1.2GHz mobile processor and will sport a redesigned QWERTY keyboard.
It seems Verizon’s latest DROID is going global. Don’t get this wrong, DROID 2 Global is still a Verizon-only device, it’s just capable of working on GSM networks too. Read more »
Samsung Continuum is another Galaxy S phone to hit Verizon this month. The interesting thing about this one is the two Super AMOLED capacitive screens on its front. The smaller unit is dedicated to all kind of statuses icons such as new messages, emails, missed calls, weather, etc.
Long story short. Facebook is building something secretly from its employees and only the high-level management is familiar with the project. The secret project is about software development and Joe Hewitt and Matthew Papakipos are working on it. Hewitt previously created the Facebook iPhone app and the Facebook iPhone website plus the popular Firefox extension Firebug. He’s also worked in Netscape during the creation of Firefox. Papakipos on the other side is a former member of the Chrome OS team (HTML5 was his specialty) plus he’s been involved in some hardware projects.
It’s been a couple of weeks since Samsung introduced its first Android-running 3G and Wi-Fi capable Galaxy Tab and now rumor is the company is about to release a more affordable Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet.
After the video from the other day demonstrating a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 running Android 2.1 now we get to take a look at the XPERIA family Android update roadmap, which surfaced recently. The bad news is there is no word on Froyo updates headed for the XPERIA family members.
The Android 2.1 update for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 should be released any moment now but, apparently, some of the X10 smartphone out there have already had their Eclairs. One of them posed for a short video. Wanna see it?
