Google decorate their backyard with a giant Froyo statue, Android 2.2 coming in less than a week

With the Google I/O Developer Event coming in less than a week (19 May), the world is already getting ready for some major announcements. And just so happens that Google placed a giant statue of Frozen Yogurt in their backyard. You know, right next to the giant Cupcake, Donut and Éclair.

Dell Streak (a.k.a. Mini 5) goes to O2 in June, AT&T launch scheduled for later this summer

What a nice surprise! The 5-inch MID Dell Streak (or maybe you know it as the Dell Mini 5) will apparently hit the shelves in Europe first. The Streak will be launched by O2 across the Old Continent next month. The US fans will have to wait a little longer to get it since it will arrive at AT&T stores later this summer.

With the iPad launch officially restarting the tablet wars, it’s only a matter of time until all large manufacturers join the battle. Samsung are said to already be working on their own slate, which should hit the shelves in August. Rumor has it that it will be called Samsung S-pad and will run on the Android OS.

Android 2.1 powered LG LU2300 preps for the South Korean market, caught in the wild

Yet another Android-powered smartphone has been caught in the wild. What appears to be the next LG multimedia powerhouse just posed for a couple of live shots. The rumored LG LU2300 is said to hit the stores in South Korea in April or May.

The slider packs a side-slide 4-row QWERTY keyboard, a D-pad and large 3.5″ capacitive AMOLED touchscreen of WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels). It is expected to run on the Android OS v2.1 and to come with a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU on board. Read more »

You’ve probably heard all about Apple’s new iPad. Everybody obviously loves the snappiness of the thing and the 1GHz A4 CPU that ticks inside obviously plays a big role in that.

Well, since the guys over at iFixIt tore the thing down, they’ve been working hard on figuring what’s finding what’s hiding under the packaging. And it turned out an overclocked Cortex A8 CPU – the same processor the iPhone 3GS uses at 600MHz.
