Grand Theft Auto 5 claims the honors for best-selling game of 2013

Grand Theft Auto 5 is last year’s best-selling video game. Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., the company who owns the wildly popular gaming franchise announced the achievement during its 2014 fiscal Q3 earnings report.

Xperia Z1 Compact kernel source files outed by Sony

Sony has been on a kernel releasing rampage as of late. When T-Mobile’s Xperia Z1s hit stores last week, its kernel source was made public the same day it went on sale. It looks like the Japanese company is following the same trend with the Xperia Z1 Compact. The device was just outed by Sony, and its kernel source was released shortly after.

So why all the fuss behind releasing the source kernel for a phone? By having access to said kernels, developers are able to create better custom ROMs for smartphones. Read more »

OUYA launches a matte black version of its console with bigger internal storage

The maker of gyroscopic OIS for Nokia makes the component available to other manufacturers

According to a report in The Register, Nokia’s highly-effective gyroscopic OIS tech has become available to other manufacturers on the open market. The tiny part made by ST Microelectronics was previously exclusively available to the Finnish manufacturer.

NVIDIA TegraZone is now available for all Android devices

NVIDIA TegraZone got treated to a major update which expanded its availability to non-Tegra devices. Version 2.9.0 of the app is currently available to download in the Google Play Store for all devices running Android 2.2 and up.

It must be pointed that the updated app does not make Tegra-enhanced game playable to non-NVIDIA devices. Read more »
