It seems several Windows Phone 8 users trying to use the web version of the Google Maps service through the browser on their phones are being denied access, with the browser now redirecting to Google’s homepage.
Although Google Maps was never technically supported on the Internet Explorer browser on WP8 (because it is optimized for use only on browsers running on the WebKit engine) it used to work to some extent before. Now, however, it doesn’t work at all. Read more »

Samsung launched the original Series 3 Chromebox back in May last year along with the Chromebook. The Chromebox was a desktop PC similar to the Mac mini. But perhaps it was a bit too similar, as the design was almost universally slammed for being a clone of the latter.
In the latest version, Samsung has chosen to upgrade just the design, with everything else being exactly the same. It still has the same 1.9GHz Intel Celeron B840 processor, Intel HD Graphics, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB flash storage. But the design has now been changed to a very simplified white, monolithic shape that frankly looks like something placed upside down. Read more »
It’s been a year since we first saw LG’s massive 55-inch OLED TV. The television was then showcased to a wider audience at CES, where it dazzled onlookers with its picture quality and amazingly thin design and even managed to nab the Best of Show at CES 2012 award.
Now, a year later, the design has gone through a bit of a change and more importantly LG is finally ready to start shipping out this TV to eager customers, starting with its home country – South Korea. Read more »

Other than being a great game, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV for PC is also known for being extremely moddable, with a ton of mods released since the game was released back in the day. iCEnhancer has been one of them and focuses mainly on the game’s visuals. And what a job it does.
With the release of the v2.5 Alpha, the developers have turned the eye-candy all the way up to almost photorealistic levels. The textures, the lighting and the reflections are at a whole new level altogether, with some motion blur and depth of field added for good measure. Read more »

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store has steadily been making progress, at least as far as the number of applications are concerned. 2012, in particular, seems to have been a good year, with over 75,000 new applications been added to the store, roughly doubling the overall number.
Back during the launch of Windows Phone 8, Microsoft had said that they had over 120,000 apps on the Windows Phone Store, although no further update was provided on that number this time. What we do know is that customers are now downloading an average of 54 applications to their device, which is over half of what iOS users do. Read more »
As if it was not enough that Google skipped adding December for people’s anniversaries in Android 4.2 (it was added later with an update), Google is now trying to ruin Christmas with these depressing Santa and Snowman emoticons.
In what is possibly the most amusing issue submitted to Google’s forums, a user has written a post complaining (jokingly, of course) about the depressing emoticons built-into the latest version of Android. Read more »
