After curiously launching only in New Zealand on the App Store, EA has now finally released Real Racing 3 globally for both iOS and Android devices. The game is free to download and weighs in at 716MB on iOS.

The Google Play Store has been available in India since its inception, but so far, the only content you could purchase were apps and games.

Google has now added a second category to the store with the introduction of Google Play Books. You will see the new addition immediately after launching the Play Store app on your Android device. Right when it was starting to seem that Twitter had completely forgotten about the Windows Phone version of its mobile app, the company has gone ahead and released a brand new version with a completely new look.

The new app takes some design elements from the iOS and Android version of Twitter’s mobile apps, such as the presence of the four tabs at the top but still maintains a UI that feels at home on Windows Phone (unlike the Android version, which is essentially a clone of the iOS version). Read more »

Last year, Adobe released the mobile version of their powerful Photoshop application, called Photoshop Touch. Although it was not quite in the same league as its desktop counterpart, the mobile app offered far more features than what you normally expect from a mobile image editing application.

Now, the application has trickled down to an even smaller screen, with the launch of Photoshop Touch for phone. As before, the new app is available for both the iPhone as well as Android smartphones. Read more »

One of the good things about Samsung is that the company is quick to release the source code for their Android devices shortly after the update starts rolling out to the device. This lets developers and people who like to tinker around with the software to get their hands dirty and come up with custom ROMs and such.

Looks like webOS has a new owner now. After being acquired by HP back in 2010 and then being made open source a year later, the mobile operating system has now been acquired by LG.

If you’re hoping to see some new smartphones and tablets from LG running webOS, however, you are in for a disappointment. LG has no such plans for webOS as of now and will only be using the OS to power its range of smart TVs. Read more »

HP has launched its first Android-based tablet, the HP Slate 7. The HP Slate 7 will be priced at a very competitive $169.99 and will go on sale in April.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Slate 7 has a 7.0-inch, 1,024 x 600 resolution FFS+ LCD, 1.6GHz, dual-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory with microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/b, Bluetooth 2.1, 3 megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, stereo speakers and Beats Audio. We are no strangers to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Although the product is yet to be officially announced, we have heard about it and even seen it a few times in the past.

The tablet was rumored to be unveiled officially at the Mobile World Congress this year. The rumors, it seems, were true, as was noticed by one of the show goers, who managed to snag a picture of the tablet at Samsung’s booth prior to official announcement. Read more »

Google has announced the new Chromebook Pixel, confirming the rumors that were circulating in the past month or so. Unlike all the previous Chromebooks, the Chromebook Pixel is made by Google themselves and is a high-end laptop with high-end specs and has a high-end price tag of $1,299 to go with them.

For starters, the Chromebook Pixel has a 12.85-inch, ultra high resolution 2,560 x 1,700 display. Google says it is the highest resolution display ever to be put in a laptop. What they mean, however, is that it has the highest pixel density of 239 ppi. The 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display in comparison have a pixel density of 227 and 220 respectively, although the latter has a higher, 2,880 x 1,800 resolution display. Read more »

So the PlayStation 4 has been announced but what about the games? Well, not to worry because Sony also announced a healthy roster of games for the new console, which should be good enough to get you going when the PS4 launches later this year.

One of the first major titles is the new ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall’. The new game is set thirty years after the events in ‘Killzone 3′ in a new world with a new hero. The Helghast and the Vektans have been living side by side peacefully in this new city, but not for long. Read more »

As was widely expected, Sony announced its upcoming PlayStation 4 gaming console at the February 20 event. While a lot was said about the console at the event, we still don’t know what it looks like or how much it would cost.

But let’s talk about what we do know, starting with the hardware. For the PS4, Sony is using an x86-64 AMD processor with an integrated 8-core ‘Jaguar’ CPU and GPU. The GPU is capable of delivering 1.84 TFLOPS of performance, which pegs it slightly above AMD’s Radeon HD 7870 desktop GPU announced last year. The PS4 will also have 8GB of GDDR5 memory with around 176GB/s of memory bandwidth. Read more »

SwiftKey has released the final version of the SwiftKey 4 keyboard on the Google Play Store. The main feature in this update is the inclusion of the new Flow feature.

What SwiftKey Flow does is that not only does it let you enter words by swiping your finger across the screen but you can also string together entire sentences without lifting your finger. Read more »

Sony has just dropped five new cameras upon us that cover various categories, from the basic point and shoot to their higher end SLT cameras and even a new NEX camera.

Let’s start with the new NEX-3N (pictured above), which is Sony’s new entry-level mirrorless camera. It has a 16.1 megapixel APS CMOS sensor that goes up to ISO 16,000 and records 1080p video. There’s also a 3.0-inch LCD that flips 180º and a zoom lever on the body that works with certain Sony powered lenses. Read more »

Mozilla has released version 19 of the popular Firefox web browser. The biggest change in this update is the inclusion of a PDF reader, such as the one in Chrome. This means you no longer have to rely on something like the Adobe Reader to be able to view PDF files within the browser.
