An earlier report on Twitter from Samsung Nigeria confirmed that BlackBerry’s popular BBM messaging platform will be coming to Android and iOS quite soon.
Although it won’t be a three-month exclusive to Samsung as was initially speculated, BBM could hit Google Play and the iOS App Store as early as this Friday. Read more »
It’s been days since the pre-order for the iPhone 5c started and yet Apple hasn’t bragged about the millions of iPhones it has sold in the first 24 hours. The iPhone 5, for example, scored 2 million pre-orders in the short time period, the 4S managed a million and the iPhone 4 scored 600,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours way back in 2010.
So, what’s going on with the iPhone 5c, is it doing equally well? China Unicom, the county’s second biggest carrier, has reported that 100,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s have been made (and they only started taking them today). Pre-ordered iPhone 5c units will arrive by September 21, while the 5s is listed as out of stock right now. Read more »
We’re still several days away from the September 20 iPhone 5s/5c global release date, but dedicated customers are already out camping in front of some stores such as the Tokyo Ginza Apple, where looming typhoon warnings cleared the streets. In turns out, in Japan not even extremely bad weather can scare away the people willing to be among the first to buy one of the new iPhones.
fortunately for these dedicated would-be iPhone owners, the Apple staff was kind enough to open their doors early and bring the customers inside until the threat had passed. Read more »
It has been nearly two years since Apple debuted its virtual personal assistant Siri on the iPhone 4S and ever since the service has been labeled as Beta. As of September 18 that’ll be no more and Siri will finally enter its first final version.
Apple’s official rollout of the final version of iOS 7 also marks Siri’s update for all devices that support it. Siri’s graduation marks a new look inspired by the major redesign of iOS 7. Gone are the fancy graphics and in is a more flat, organized way of displaying information. Read more »
Gameloft announced on Twitter that their popular new racing game, Asphalt 8: Airborne, will go free on iOS over the weekend. The game is usually priced at $0.99 on both the App Store as well as the Play Store.
Airborne is the latest in the long line of Asphalt games for mobile devices. We reviewed the game recently but were less than blown away by it, due to the aggressive difficulty, expensive IAP options and performance issues on Android. It is still a decent game overall for the price and now that it is being made available for free on iOS, it’s definitely worth a download. Read more »
The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c might be the “most forward thinking” offerings out there according to Apple, but it seems not everyone is so excited about them.
Wall street has been rather disappointed by last night’s event it seems and has reduced the support for Apple’s stock. The Apple shares’ price dropped by 2.28% in the immediate aftermath of the event and have slid a further 5% in pre-market trading today. Read more »
The Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are now official, which makes this the first occasion when we get two iPhones at ones. It was only logical then that we’ll pit them against each other and see who’s who in the new family. The HTC One is also here – firstly, because it couldn’t make it to our other specs shootout, and secondly, because we need a handset to put the two new Apple smartphones in perspective.
This HTC One and the iPhone 5s share a premium aluminum build, but that is where their similarities mostly end. Apple has refused to take the big screen approach with the iPhone 5s, but that’s not really the point of the ‘s’ in its name, is it? Read more »
Apple has designed its own cases to sell with the upcoming iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. The iPhone 5c cases are made of silicon and come in six colors – white, red, yellow, green, blue and black.
The iPhone 5c cases surely look unorthodox, though we are not sure those holes at the back will appeal to everyone. As a matter of fact, we believe they only go well with Crocs and we are not sure that’s a compliment, either. Read more »
Apple has just revealed its iPhone 5s flagship smartphone and it’s everything that rumors made us expect, really. The company hasn’t redesigned the smartphone, but has made plenty of changes on the inside.
But is it enough? That’s what we will be finding out in the following comparison table. The main rivals of the iPhone 5S come from Korea and they’re the LG G2 and Samsung Galaxy S4. Let’s see what Apple has done with the iPhone 5s in an attempt to stop its melting user base jump over to the Android camp. Read more »

As usual, Apple has released an official promo video of its newly announced smartphone, and today we got a clip of the iPhone 5c. The phone was announced a few minutes ago along with the iPhone 5s flagship.
The Apple iPhone 5c model is replacing the iPhone 5. It features the same internals, but has a plastic shell though it brings a slightly bigger battery and supports even more LTE bands. It adds a few millimeters around the waist and some extra grams, though. Read more »
Apple iPhoto, iMovie and the iWork suite for iOS will be free for “all new iOS 7 devices”. That’s the exact wording Apple used so it’s unclear if existing iDevice users that qualify for an iOS 7 upgrade will be getting the same kind of treatment or if they will still have to pay for those apps.
Once you get a new iOS 7-running iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, the OS will automatically offer you to download those apps. Read more »

Now, we have couple of images, showing the next generation iPad sitting next to its predecessor. Those align nicely with previous rumors, giving even more credibility to those slimmer bezels. Read more »
