‘Dead Trigger 2′ for iOS and Android game review

by 55 comments

Last year’s Dead Trigger was quite a decent game. The gameplay was fun for most parts and the graphics looked amazing for that time, or even by today’s standards, for that matter. However, the experience was sullied due to overzealous in-app purchase options that a lot of people took offense to, especially since the game was paid. Eventually the game went free, so then there were fewer reasons to complain.

This year’s Dead Trigger 2 tries to take things up a notch by improving upon every aspect of it’s predecessor. As an added precaution, it is free from the start. With such a low price tag, it’s going to be tough to hold much against it but let’s see how it is anyway. Read more »

Study finds iPhone 5s and 5c touchscreens inaccurate

by 223 comments

So, iPhone touchscreens are fast in terms of responsiveness but are they accurate? They are not, says test automation firm OptoFidelity. Using a couple of home-brewed machines the company found that the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are quick to react to user input but can’t track your finger as accurately as a 18 months-old Samsung Galaxy S III.

The test was performed by an accurate robotic finger that touched the screen at specific coordinates and compared it to what the phone reports as the touch coordinates. You can see one of their machines here. Read more »

by 41 comments

When the Apple iPad Air was being announced, Apple co-founder Steve “Woz” Wozniak was, well, in the air. When his plane landed he took a look at the two new phablets and didn’t like what he saw. “When I finally took a look at the devices, the iPads didn’t hit my needs,” said Wozniak, who emailed his wife “Nope, I don’t want one of those.”

The iPad Air (that’s the 9.7″ model for those who haven’t caught up with the new naming scheme) is thinner and lighter, but what Woz really wanted was more storage. Read more »

by 79 comments

Apple changed around many things with the iOS 7 update, one of which was introducing a whole new set of animations for unlocking the phone and closing apps and folders .

But many users have complained that about the speed of the new animations is just too slow, and once the iOS 7.0.3. update allowed them, disabled them outright.
