The iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 leaks are intensifying now that the iPhones are out from under their secretive wraps. The new iPads will reportedly follow the iPhone 5s’s lead and come in space grey, silver and gold.

Nokia takes a dig at Apple Maps on Twitter

The latest Apple Maps flaw that resulted in several users driving onto the runway at Fairbanks airport has reignited the now infamous iOS 6 Apple Maps fiasco.

iPad mini 2 to allegedly have A7 processor, Touch ID and new colors

Sonny Dickson, known for his proficiency in acquiring and leaking Apple hardware well ahead of time, has managed to get his hands on the upcoming iPad mini 2 and has a lot of things to say about it.

First of all, the iPad mini 2 will have the same A7 processor with the new 64-bit architecture and 1GB of RAM found on the iPhone 5s. It will also have the M7 motion coprocessor, which will allow applications that require access to motion sensors to run in the background without waking up the A7 processor. Read more »

Has your iPhone 5 or 5c developed a battery drain issue on iOS7? Some of ours have

Several people in the office along with some of our friends and family experienced a sudden battery drain on their iPhone 5 phones after the iOS 7 update and we noticed the same thing happen to the iPhone 5c (which has virtually the same internals as the iPhone 5). The iPhone 5s has not developed such a problem though.

It’s not just us, people have complained on the Internet that they’ve had the same issue with their iPhone 5/5c units. Read more »

Instagram for iPhone updated for iOS 7

Instagram has released a new update for the iPhone version of their app, which has been redesigned to go with the new iOS 7 update that started rolling out last week.

The first thing you’ll notice in this update is that the design is now flatter with the gradients being replaced by solid uniform colors. Oddly, though, the camera interface still is the same, with the curved glossy shutter button, not to mention the icon, which is also the same and inconsistent with other iOS 7 icons. Read more »

Apple iPhone 5s is in the house, the hands-on video shows its Touch ID glory

This is it – Apple’s flagship device for 2013 – the iPhone 5s. The new phone comes to sweep iFans off their feet with a new Touch ID home button, a 15% larger camera sensor, the spanking new Gold color option and a 64-bit Apple A7 processor.

At first glance the iPhone 5s looks identical to the iPhone 5 but when you look closer, you start seeing the differences. There’s a dual LED flash, the Space Gray version replaces the Black one of old (and looks grayer indeed), while on the front the home button now has a sapphire glass-covered sensor with an aluminum ring around it. Yet another leak of the upcoming iPad 5 has emerged. This time, we’re treated to high resolution photos of the Space Gray color variation of Apple’s fifth generation slate.

Apple iPhone 5c arrives at the office, the hands-on video is inside

Today Apple iPhone 5c arrived at our office and as the tradition goes, we unboxed it in front of our camera and took a quick tour around its UI.

The iPhone 5c comes in a brand new colorful and plastic shell, but its internals are identical to the already discontinued iPhone 5. The battery capacity is the only thing that got bumped by a hair. Read more »

EA Sports FIFA 14 got a grand release in NZ App Store a couple of days ago and the latest action blockbuster game is now available for both Android and iOS platforms across the globe.

BlackBerry pauses global roll-out for BBM on iPhone and Android

So after a long time BlackBerry finally decided to release BlackBerry Messenger, or BBM, on the iPhone and Android. The dates were set; September 21 for the Android version and September 22 for the iPhone version. And when the time finally arrived, they dropped the ball.

The first comedy arrived in the form of September 21 coming and going with no sign of the Android version. Thankfully, the company kept their word and released the iPhone version on September 22 but the Android version was still not available despite the fact that it had a one day headstart. Hackers claim to have cracked the Touch ID fingerprint scanner of the iPhone 5s

According to a claim by the hackers of the Chaos Computer Club, the Touch ID fingerprint scanner of the iPhone 5s has been successfully cracked. The biometric security system has been broken by “using easy everyday means.”

The Apple fingerprint sensor has a higher resolution compared to the ones used so far. Read more »

‘Angry Birds Star Wars II’ for iOS, Android, Windows Phone game review

The original Angry Birds Star Wars hit the app stores last year in November and came as a breath of fresh air. Although an Angry Birds game at heart, the game featured brand new birds modeled after Star Wars characters and had their own unique new powers that made the game more exciting than what you’d expect from an Angry Birds game.

Now, Rovio is back with a sequel, with the aptly named Angry Birds Star Wars II that is based on the prequel trilogy of Star Wars movies, and once again features several new characters and environments in dozens of new levels. BBM for iOS goes live, Android version arriving shortly

The hotly anticipated BlackBerry Messenger for iOS is finally official. The app is currently available for download in the App Store.

Update: The unreleased version of BBM for Android has resulted in more than 1.1 million activations in first 8 hours, causing lot of issues for the company. So, BlackBerry has paused the global roll out of BBM for Android and iPhone. Read more »
