by 10 comments

Warner Bros. Games Montreal have announced the newest installment in the highly popular and critically acclaimed series of Batman games. After Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, Arkham Origins will be the third game in the series, however, it will serve as the prequel to the first two, as you can guess from the name.

Arkham Origins takes place several years before the events of Arkham Asylum and features a much younger Batman, facing his enemies for the first time. The two main antagonists of the game are Black Mask and Deathstroke, with the former being more prominent of the two. The game will take place within Arkham City like the previous one. Read more »

Disney games go free on Android, Google flushes 60,000 apps from the Play Store [UPDATED]

by 35 comments

Six Disney games are now free on Android – Temple Run Brave, Where’s My Perry, Where’s My Water, Wreck It Ralph, It’s a Small World, and Puffle Launch. They were all previously priced at $0.99. Their iOS siblings are still paid apps.

Update: Disney got in touch with us and clarified that the sale was actually caused by a technical glitch in the Google Play Store and not an actual promotion. The issue has since been rectified and the games are back at their $0.99 price tags. The official statement follows:

There was a technical glitch on Google Play this morning that triggered the apps to be marked as free. The issue was corrected immediately and the prices are now back to normal for all of these titles (0.99$).

It’s unclear if this promotion is temporary, but according to the Google Play rules once an app goes free there is no turning back unless the developer deletes it and submits it again. Read more »

‘PUK’ for iPhone and Android game review

by 23 comments

There are big, complicated games, with guns, cars and explosions, missions to complete, stories to follow and characters to remember. Then there are simple games with just one objective where you have to do one thing over and over again till you get it right. PUK falls in that latter category.

In PUK, you hit larger circles with smaller circles before the time runs out. That’s basically all you do. But despite the simple premise, PUK is fiendishly addictive and one of the best games to have come out on mobile in recent times. Let’s see what makes it so good. Read more »

by 42 comments

Those who are into fishing would know that it’s not a terribly exciting activity. This what puts the ridiculous in Ridiculous Fishing, a brand new game for iOS that has already won awards and praise from the media. The game turns the rather boring act of fishing into a crazy and often hilarious adventure. Let’s take a closer look at it. Read more »

Watch the 17 minute Battlefield 4 gameplay video here

by 37 comments

After a flurry of Battlefield 4 teaser videos, EA has finally dropped in the real deal. A lengthy 17 minute long gameplay video that showcases some of the finest visuals and sound I’ve seen in a game until now.

The video starts off with the now familiar in medias res format, where you see a scene and then it tracks back in the past to show you how you landed up there. You can’t tell much about the story, other than a bunch of soldiers trying to survive an attack who then later end up at the bottom of a lake inside a car. Read more »
