You may have heard about Disney/Pixar’s upcoming animation film Brave. You may have also heard about the hit mobile game Temple Run. Now the two have joined forces to bring you a new game for iOS and Android called Temple Run: Brave.

Temple Run: Brave features the main character from the movie Merida who is running away from the demon bear Mordu. The basic gameplay mechanic here is the same as on the standard Temple Run. Your character automatically keeps running and you have to turn, jump and slide to avoid obstacles and falling from your path. You collect coins that help you to purchase power-ups from the game’s menu and you can purchase more coins using in-app purchase. Read more »

Opera released the latest version of its desktop browser, Opera 12, which brings support for themes. Setting a new theme for your Opera browser will add a new background image on the speed dial and new tab page and would also change the colors the tab bar and the browser chrome.

It’s not a terribly unique feature, with both Firefox and Chrome being able to do this for a long time now but it’s good to see it arrive on Opera as well and the implementation is actually pretty good. The few themes available on Opera’s site also look pretty good. Read more »

One of the things we wait for when a new product is launched, apart from getting our hands on it, is watching iFixit tear them apart and expose their innards. Naturally, the new MacBooks announced at WWDC weren’t going to be treated differently, so now we have the full iFixit teardown of both the new MacBook Pro with Retina display and the MacBook Air.

Lets’s start with the MacBook Pro, which got the lowest score a product can get when it comes to repairability. The reason for this is because a lot of the internal parts are custom designed as well as attached to the motherboard. Read more »

Apple may have announced support for iOS 6 on the three year old iPhone 3GS and the two year old iPhone 4 but they won’t be getting the same treatment as the company’s newest iPhone 4S. If you go through Apple’s website and read the fine print you will find out that some of the more important features in iOS 6 that were demoed in the keynote couple of days ago won’t be available at all on the iPhone 4 and 3GS.

One of these features is Flyover, part of the new Maps app in iOS 6. Flyover lets you see an aerial view of the major metro areas around the world in glorious photorealistic 3D. Read more »

Although the iOS version of Max Payne Mobile was launched back in April, the Android version got lost in translation and was delayed indefinitely. That is until now.

Rockstar has announced that the game will be available this Thursday, that is June 14 for $2.99 and features HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity, user-customizable controls and gamepad support for select USB controllers. Read more »

It seems the company’s flagship product, the Mac Pro, was not worthy of a mention at the WWDC keynote yesterday because the product has received a quiet update after the event was over. Unfortunately, if you have been waiting for a significant update to this product, you are in for a disappointment.

You may have already seen the Smart Cover for the iPad 2 and the new iPad. While extremely intelligent, it’s biggest flaw was that it only covered the display on the front while leaving the back open for scratches.

Apple has now announced the new iPad Smart Case that not just covers the display but also the back. It behaves similar to the Smart Cover, where the top folds back and forms a stand to place the iPad in various positions. It also has the magnets that make the iPad automatically go to sleep when you place the cover over the display. But the new part is a complete coating for the back that ensures full protection for your iPad 2 or the new iPad. Read more »

After launching the extremely stylish and critically acclaimed TMA-1 last year, AIAIAI is back with a studio version. The TMA-1 Studio carry over the same minimalist and attractive design of the TMA-1 but with a few changes.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the TMA-1 Studio have much larger ear cups. Whereas the TMA-1 sat on top of your ears, the TMA-1 Studio surrounds them with larger circumaural earcups. The earcups come with PU cushions as standard but you can also choose to opt for a set of separately sold leather cushions that not just look and feel different but also produce a different sound signature. Adobe has updated the Flash Player for the desktop and Android. On the desktop, the Flash Player 11.3 now supports keyboard input even in fullscreen mode and low latency audio support for streaming audio and Sound API. Other features include sandboxing which is available for Firefox users on Windows. On the Mac, you now get the ability to upgrade the Flash Player in the background. It also comes signed with the Apple Developer ID so it can work with the Gatekeeper feature in the upcoming OS X Mountain Lion.

The Facebook App Center that we talked about before has now gone live. Currently, it is only available on the web version of Facebook but it should soon arrive on iOS and Android as well.

Like we said before, the App Center will house all the web apps and games that you currently play on Facebook in one place and also add mobile apps to the mix. However, unlike other mobile app stores, the Facebook App Center won’t actually house the mobile apps but will direct you to the application stores of their respective platforms. Read more »

Canon has announced the newest member of its EOS DSLR range, the EOS 650D, which will be known as the Rebel T4i in North America. At the heart of this camera is an 18 megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor and DIGIC 5 Image Processor that lets it shoot at 5 fps burst mode and up to ISO 12,800 (extendable to ISO 25,600).

But the main feature on this camera is the capacitive touchscreen on the back, a first for a Canon DSLR. It’s a fully articulated 3.0-inch Clear View LCD II with 1,040k dots. The touchscreen can be used to do things like settings focus points, navigating through the menus and pinching and swiping images. Read more »

Nintendo showcased their upcoming Wii U console with some kickass games that take advantage of its unique controller. As you may know, the Wii U controller has a massive touchscreen between the controls, that gives access to special game features and also lets you switch off the main screen and just play the game on the controller itself, like a PSVita.

Some of the developers have really taken to this new control mechanism. We have the new Batman Arkham City Armored Edition where you can control Batman’s weapons and gadgets from the touchscreen while playing the game, among other things. Just in case you are wondering why is HTC not one of the manufacturers currently showing off a Windows RT tablet at Computex, the reason is because Microsoft denied them access.

Bloomberg is reporting that HTC showed interest in making a Windows RT tablet but Microsoft denied them the license, over concerns “that HTC doesn’t sell enough devices or have ample experience making tablets”. Read more »

While some might not think it is fair, it surely hasn’t stopped NVIDIA from working with developers to bring special versions of games that are designed to take full advantage of their Tegra hardware and add additional effects and features not found on the non-Tegra versions of these games. We have already seen games like Shadowgun, Samurai II: Vengeance and Riptide GP being optimized for Tegra 3 and now NVIDIA has announced five new games at E2 2012 that will be part of NVIDIA’s TegraZone.

The first of these is the game that you see above called Dead Trigger, which we have talked about once before. This is a first person zombie shooter made by the same people who brought you Shadowgun and Samurai II. We have already seen trailers for both these games, God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us, before but now it’s time to see some gameplay videos. Sony took the opportunity at E3 2012 to do exactly that.

Ascension looks a lot like the previous God of War games. There is Kratos who is his usual angry self, tearing his enemies apart limb by limb. There are some new enemies here but the coolest thing that you see in the gameplay video is the ability to repair damaged environments to their former self and use that to progress through the game.
