Razer announces Ouroboros, wireless customizable gaming mouse

Razer has announced the latest entrant in its gaming series of mice, called the Ouroboros. Keeping with their tradition of naming their products after extinct or mythical creatures, the Ouroboros mouse shares its name with an ancient symbol depicting a serpent swallowing its own tail and forming a circle.

The Ouroboros has got quite an interesting design. It has a customizable design that reminds one of the Cyborg R.A.T.7, although it is not quite as customizable. What you can do on the Ouroboros is adjust the length of the back arch, making the mouse longer. The arch also tilts so you can have a shape that fits your palm best. Read more »

Safari for Windows goes AWOL, probably discontinued

Soon after Apple released Mountain Lion upon the world, a little known software called Safari for Windows disappeared from the face of the Earth. Or to be more precise, from Apple’s website.

Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro based MDP announced, costs $1,299

We already knew a quad-core version of the excellent Snapdragon S4 processor was in the works and now Qualcomm has officially unveiled it. But it hasn’t just announced the chip, and is also offering you a chance to use it on their new Mobile Development Platform (MDP), which for the first time is available in a tablet form-factor and will be sold through BSQUARE.

The MDP/T is primarily targeted at developers and hardware manufacturers who would want to try the new chipset and test their apps on it. The device runs on Android 4.0 but the software is not final, as is often the case with these developer devices. Read more »

OS X Mountain Lion releasing today

In their sales call yesterday where they announced their third quarter results, CEO Tim Cook also mentioned that the next version of OS X, Mountain Lion, is coming today on July 25.

Until now, all we knew was that Mountain Lion was coming some time in July, although rumors were circulating that the release will be some time this week. Read more »

Apple releases new iPhone 4S ad, starring Martin Scorsese

Apple has released yet another ad for the iPhone 4S highlighting the Siri functionality. And this time, they have none other than Mr. Martin Scorsese himself.

This new ad sticks to the same formula as the previous ones. The celebrity is using the Siri functionality on the iPhone 4S to manage day to day tasks such as changing appointment schedules, which highlights the ease of using just your voice to do these otherwise tedious tasks while simultaneously highlighting the conversational nature of Siri. Motorola XOOM Android 4.1.1 update changelog leaked

The Android 4.1, Jelly Bean update is coming for the Motorola XOOM. That much we know, since Google themselves said so on the stage at the Google I/O. But there has been no sign of it so far, even though we are well past the mid-July phase now and the other two promised Nexus devices having already gotten their updates.

Canon officially announces the EOS M, their first mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera

A few days ago we reported about the leaked image of the then unannounced Canon EOS M camera. This was to be the first mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera from the company and was supposed to be announced on July 23. And just as expected, here comes the full announcement from Canon.

As with other cameras of this kind, Canon is boasting about the existence of a DSLR size sensor and the ability to change lenses in a relatively compact camera that you can carry around with you every where. They are also targeting the everyday photographers with this camera, that is, the people you see going around clicking pictures of things usually with their mobile phone cameras, but with this they can do the same with much better results. Samsung announces special edition London Olympics themed Galaxy S III for Taiwan

Google acquires popular email client Sparrow

In an interesting move, Google has acquired Sparrow, a popular email client for OS X and iOS. The acquisition was announced by Sparrow’s CEO Dom Leca on their website. According to The Verge, this acquisition cost Google under $25 million.

Apple expands iTunes in the Cloud for movies availability to 38 countries

You may be aware of the iTunes in the Cloud service by Apple. Using this service, you can download music, movies, TV shows, apps or books on one device and have them automatically download on all your other devices if you so wish.

So far the the ability to automatically download movies on other devices was only restricted to the US but Apple has now expanded the list of eligible countries to 38. Read more »
