by 47 comments

The Nokia Lumia 1020 / 909 / EOS (there are competing reports of what it will actually be the final name) will launch on July 11 and go on sale as soon as August (or even this month) and now we’re even starting to see accessory leaks.

The first to leak is a battery pack that adds another 1,020mAh of juice, an extra 35% according to Izestia.ru. That would put the Lumia 1020 battery at around 2,900mAh as well as provide a very comfortable grip that will improve the EOS handling as a camera. Read more »

‘Where’s My Mickey?’ for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 game review

by 45 comments

Disney’s original Where’s My Water? game has been pretty successful. Combining simple mechanics with thoughtful puzzles, it was a great way to quickly pass time. It’s sequel, Where’s My Perry? introduced a new character and story along with some new gameplay elements.

Having said that, Where’s My Perry? did feel like more of the same, so you’d think Disney would stop at that. But they haven’t and so now we have Where’s My Mickey?. Once again, we get more of the same sand swiping action and directing of fluids around the screen but with a different character, one we are all too familiar with. But will that be enough for you to consider spending your dollar (or two) on the game or should you give this one a pass? Let’s find out. Read more »

MIUI is one of the most famous Android launchers out there and now it’s available for HTC One users as an easy to flash ROM.

Based on AOSP version of Android 4.2.2 via a fork of the CyanogenMod ROM, the MIUI v5 for HTC One is reported as a pretty stable replacement of the Sense UI experience that the stock HTC One provides. Many owners say it’s much prettier, too. Read more »

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S4 commercial bashes Apple with the help of dancing ninjas and a goat

by 146 comments

Samsung Iceland released an odd, yet hilarious ad for the Galaxy S4, which takes a jab at the Apple iPhone in a never before seen fashion. The ad metaphorically highlights the advantages of the Korean flagship by employing a team of dancing ninjas and (get ready for this) a goat.

The plot of the ad is quite simple. In the beginning, a guy tries to interact with an apple as if it is an actual smartphone with “predictable” results. Read more »

‘Limbo’ for iOS game review

by 21 comments

For seasoned gamers, especially those who regularly haunt the dark gray alleys of Steam, Limbo isn’t anything new. Released back in 2010, the game was incredibly well received by everyone and has won several awards ever since.

For someone who spends considerable amount of time playing both PC/console as well as mobile games, Limbo was one of those games that I was really hoping would make it to the mobile platform. And then the developers decided to grant my wish. Available only on iOS for now, Limbo is finally out on the mobile and so we decided to see how well it has translated over to the smaller screen. Elago G7 Breathe case for Samsung Galaxy S4 hands-on

by 126 comments

Continuing its tradition of designing accessories for the Samsung Galaxy family of smartphones, the California based manufacturer Elago released a trio of protective cases for the Galaxy S4. Out of the bunch, I managed to spend quality time with the Elago G7 Breathe case. The cover is designed to offer basic protection for the smartphone, as well as (arguably) enhance its appearance.

This is not my first experience with Elago products. Over the years, the company has established itself firmly on the market by offering products which pack great bang for the buck. At a quick glance, the Elago G7 Breathe case looks like no exception from the norm. Read on to find out if it is worth your consideration! Read more »

Early HTC Butterfly S benchmarks show it beats HTC One, trades blows with Samsung Galaxy S4

by 23 comments

Early benchmarks for the HTC Butterfly S are in and unsurprisingly it muscles the HTC One out of the way. It gives other flagships a run for their money too, topping several benchmarks and coming close to the top in the rest. And this is with early, unfinished software too.

The Butterfly S packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with four Krait 300 CPU cores clocked at 1.9GHz, Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Those are the same specs as the Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4 and better than the HTC One (same chipset, but CPU is at 1.7GHz, GPU is probably clocked lower too). Read more »
