Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to come with new design, flexible display

The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch has been rumored to come out in tandem with the Galaxy S5. Now a new publication in a Korean media, which claims to be in touch with Samsung insiders, the new generation smartwatch will be announced in March or April.

The announcement is likely to happen in London, probably at an Unpacked event. The insider also claims that Samsung has felt the need to radically change the design of the upcoming Gear. The overhaul will include a new, flexible OLED display. Read more »

Announced during CES earlier this month, the Sol Republic Relays are the company’s first entry into the market for headphones geared towards active people. The manufacturer boasts that the headset is the first of its kind to handle casual and sports duties with equal aplomb.

Sol Republic’s claim to have created an ultra-compact, water resistant, and perfectly fitting headset in the Relays sounds almost too good to be true. Sony Xperia Z1 Compact gets QX10/QX100 camera attachment case

Sony recently announced a camera case for the Xperia Z Ultra that allows you to attach the Sony QX10 or QX100 cameras on the rather large body of the Z Ultra. Now Sony has announced a similar case for the new Xperia Z1 Compact, although the reason this time is not so clear.

As with the Z Ultra case, the case for the Z1 Compact (SPA-ACX4) snaps on to the back and has a provision where you can attach either of the two camera accessories without their snapping attachment. Read more »

Designed and manufactured in the United States, the Element Case offering is part of a small club of iPhone accessories, whose design and finish sit on par with those of Apple’s latest smartphone.

Founded in California back in 2007, Element Case is established as one of the premier makers of high-end protective covers for smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Gear overclocked to 1.6GHz

Being a mere smartwatch doesn’t save the Samsung Galaxy Gear from the developers’ desire at getting deep into the gadget’s core. And now, courtesy of XDA Developers, comes the first custom kernel for the Gear.

The Samsung Galaxy Gear has already got its first custom ROM, showing that developers aren’t afraid to get creative, but the new kernel finally shows that they are also now ready to go one level deeper. The first custom kernel allows for the Gear to run at the maximum frequency of its dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU, which is 1.6GHz. Read more »

The Sennheiser CX 275s are pair of in-ear headphones designed specifically for mobile devices. One of the key features of this product is a universal microphone and call pickup/cancel button that is designed to work with practically every smartphone and tablet out there.

Razer Nabu smartband is designed to be your everyday best friend

Gaming company Razer famous for its gaming mice, keyboards, headphones and a gaming laptop, has announced at CES 2014 its latest endeavour – the Nabu wristband. The company calls the Nabu a smartband, as it connects to your smartphone and feeds you all sorts of notifications in addition to pulling off some fitness tracking duties.

The Nabu is a rubber wristband that holds two displays. While carrying the Nabu, the front screen will be the one you’ll quickly glance at for not so private notifications, while the secondary screen is on the back of the wristband. To see it, you have to twist your wrist on the side – it’s useful for reading SMS messages, for example. Read more »

The Samsung Galaxy Gear gets friendly with the BMW i3, shows car status

Samsung and BMW have collaborated on a rather cool use for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. At CES 2014, Samsung showcased a specially developed application, which connects to the BMW i3′s “i Remote Application” allowing it to control some of the car’s functions and give you status information.

The Galaxy Gear will be able to show information of the BMW i3 such as door and window status (opened or closed), battery charge levels and drivable range. Read more »

LG Life Band Touch goes live ahead of CES

LG has just announced its smart wearable Life Band Touch. Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, the high-tech wristband is water resistant and capable of keeping track of your workouts, runs, step counts, calorie consumption as well as distance walked.

Those are nice features, but are quite common, which has made LG up the ante by also making this a fitness accessory. As a result it sports a special earphone, called the Heart Rate Earphone. Read more »

The Sol Republic Master Tracks sit on top of the young company’s product range. The over-ear headphones are designed and equipped to go head to head with the likes of Beats Audio’s new Studio headset, while being priced a good deal less than Dr. Dre’s offering.

Sony launches special Xperia Z Ultra case to attach the QX10/100 camera

Sony recently launched the QX10 and QX100 camera accessories that snap on to the back of your Android phone or iPhone and allow you take much higher quality images with optical zoom than is otherwise possible with the built-in camera. But while these devices are meant to fit a wide variety of phones, they don’t actually fit Sony’s own Xperia Z Ultra due to its enormity.

To solve this problem, Sony has now released new cases for the Xperia Z Ultra, that has a provision on the back to attach these accessories. You just snap them on the back without the attachment tool used for other phones and then use the phone like a point and shoot camera. Read more »
