by 30 comments

As usual with high-end devices, we are sure that by the time the HTC One hits the stores, there would be plenty of third-party accessories to choose from. Nevertheless, it’s still reassuring to know HTC has created several high-quality accessories, matching the HTC One colors and design language.

The list of accessories we managed to snap at the HTC One unveiling event includes several cases, a desk cradle, an external power-pack and a new white/silver version of the HTC Bluetooth stereo headset. Read more »

Marshall Major Pitch Black headphones review

by 25 comments

There’s hardly any doubt that Marshall audio products have achieved cult status after decades of being the sound equipment of choice for legendary music artists of all genres. The company has also made an entry into the highly lucrative market for audio headphones with the Minor line of earbuds and the Major on-ear collection. Given Marshall’s reputation for quality, I barely hesitated when I got a chance to spend time with a pair of its on-ear creations.

The Marshall Major Pitch Black headphones are fairly affordable for the brand cachet they carry – a lot of major retailers sell them for under $100. Now, let’s find out if they are worth your hard-earned money. Read more »

The AL13 is a high quality aluminum bumper for the iPhone 5 that’s getting Kickstarter funding

by 116 comments

With iPhone 5′s aluminum body and redesigned antenna layout, Apple didn’t see the need to make a new bumper for its latest flagship smartphone. However, a small company called Designed by m took it upon itself to fill the void and created the AL13.

The bumper is made of ultra-thin aerospace aluminum and manufactured with chamfered edges; the same sort that the iPhone 5 boasts. It weighs just 16 grams, so it won’t be turning your slim and light iPhone into something hard to carry around. Read more »

Martin Logan Mikros 70 in-ear headphones review

by 35 comments

Honestly, I highly doubt that a Martin Logan product would be on your list if you were on the market for premium earbuds. This is understandable as the Mikros 70 is the company’s first pair of those to come to the market. However, Martin Logan’s pedigree of manufacturing high-quality speakers whose price tag can top the MSRP of a family sedan was enough to grab my attention.

Logically, the iOS products compatible Martin Logan Mikros 70 are not entry-level earbuds. Priced at $149.99, the headset sits in one of the most competitive segments on the market, with plenty of well-established players facing it. I am now going to find out if the Mikros 70 has what it takes to get its own piece of the action. Read more »

V-Moda Crossfade M-80 headphones review

by 28 comments

The first time I experienced a pair of V-Moda headphones was back in 2008 when I enjoyed my time with a pair of the company’s earbuds. At the time, V-Moda headphones were already well known for their blend of premium quality and sound despite the company’s young age.

This time around, I got a chance to spend some quality time with a pair of the V-Moda Crossfade M-80 on-ear headphones. Priced in the $200 range, V-Moda’s premium offering aims to sway potential users away from the well-established Beats Audio Solo, and therefore enough to get me curious. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Note II gets a 6400mAh battery, takes a shot at immortality

by 87 comments

The 3100mAh battery unit of the Samsung Galaxy Note II already propelled it to an impressive endurance rating in our battery test. I do however, reckon that there might be some users out there who would appreciate some extra juice at their disposal – just in case they need to jump start their car in a cold winter morning. Mugen Power’s humongous 6400mAh battery is aiming at those Galaxy Note II owners.

The laptop worthy battery unit is scheduled to ship on December 21, priced at a hair less than $100. Read more »

Samsung announces protective flip covers for the Note II and S III

by 75 comments

Samsung previous released a couple of flip covers for the Galaxy Note II and the S III, where you had to replace the back cover with the case that also acted as a back cover and had a flap to protect the display. The problem with them was that the back cover was the same glossy material as the standard cover and was just as easy to scratch.

Enter these new protective flip covers. Available for both the Note II and the S III, these new covers feature a soft touch material for both the front as well as the back so you don’t have to worry about scratches any more. These new flip covers are available in multiple color options and Samsung will even give you a discount if you buy them in bulk. Read more »
