Nokia Hong Kong thinks iOS 7 looks pretty close to its beloved Windows Phone

Windows Phone pioneered the flat UI on mobile and the new iOS 7 look shares a lot of similarities – at least whoever maintains the Nokia Hong Kong’s Weibo account thinks so. They created this image and challenged users to pick which side is WP8 and which side is iOS 7.

Gameloft announces Asphalt 8: Airborne and Brothers in Arms 3

If you think all the gaming action this month is happening only on the consoles, think again. Gameloft has announced the next versions of their popular Asphalt and Brothers in Arms games and the visuals are likely to blow your mind.

The first is Asphalt 8: Airborne, the successor to the rather excellent Asphalt 7: Heat. From the trailer it seems there is not a whole lot of difference in terms of gameplay but holy mother of polygons does it look spectacular, especially for a mobile game. Read more »

We give iOS 7 beta a try on an iPhone 5, the video is inside

Apple released the first iOS 7 beta yesterday and we just couldn’t keep our hands off it. We just couldn’t wait until the fall to give the latest version of the Apple platform a try. We’ve installed the new iOS on an iPhone 5 and we’ve restored it from an iCloud backup. Everything has gone smooth so we are now able to share our first impressions with you.

There are now 900,000 apps in the Apple App Store, more than $10 billion paid to devs

Apple’s WWDC 2013 has just begun and Tim Cook was eager to share how the iOS ecosystem and the App Store have been doing. Cook shared some statistics from back in May, including the 50 billion downloaded apps milestone. The company boasts that there are now 900,000 apps in the App Store.

Interestingly, over 90% of them are downloaded each month. The apps specifically designed for the iPad are now more than 375,000. Read more »

Official Man of Steel game trailer comes ahead of iOS and Android launch

As Man of Steel is gathering popularity Warner Bros is keen to boost the hype even further. Just before the movie’s release we got a trailer of the upcoming game for Android and iOS.

The trailer contains gameplay footage detailing some combos, the flying, the graphics and confirms the June 14 release date. Unfortunately, we got no info on how much the game will cost. Read more »

Apple allegedly inks deal with Sony, iRadio service all but certain for WWDC 2013

According to a report by AllThingsD Apple has sealed а deal with Sony and, having secured deals with Warner and Universal, could be all but ready to launch its rumored iRadio service at the WWDC event starting on June 10.

iRadio (or whatever it will be called) is touted as Apple’s answer for services like Spotify and Pandora (and not to mention major rivals in the face of Amazon and Google) and will bring music streaming with the option for purchasing songs (see picture above). Read more »

You can now track your luggage at the airport on your iPhone with Airbus Bags2Go

Flying can be stressful all by itself, but the chance to lose your luggage while doing so is even worse. Airplane manufacturer Airbus wants to put an end to this by introducing its latest service called Bags2Go.

The service is a joint effort of Airbus, T-Mobile and luggage maker Rimowa and lets you rent a special suitcase, which makes use of a GPS-tracker, a 2G mobile connection, and an RFID chip to record its location. It then lets you hook up to it through an iPhone to track where exactly it is. Read more »

Analyst thinks a cheaper iPhone will launch ahead of the 5S in five different color options

There’s a lot of talk about Apple introducing a cheaper iPhone (even if Phil Schiller said no) and analyst Brian White thinks Cupertino will also break it’s black and white color scheme to introduce 5 color options on the “iPhone mini”.

There’s some evidence that Apple will introduce a third color option for its iPhone flagship, so colors might be on Jony Ive’s mind. Also, the iPod touch (an iPhone without the “phone”) does come in five different colors. Read more »

Modern Combat is an extremely popular Gameloft title that already has 4 great installments readily available in the Apple App Store and Google Play store so naturally we’re thrilled to see a trailer of the upcoming Modern Combat 5.

It’s little over a minute long and portrays the upcoming improved graphics, pioneering gameplay like riding (and shooting from) helicopters and speedboats with the whole ordeal based in a modern-day Venice-vibe town. Read more »

Madfinger Games announces Dead Trigger 2

Madfinger Games’ first attempt at a first person zombie shooter was pretty successful, judging by the 18 million downloads across iOS and Android. Now they have announced a successor in the form of Dead Trigger 2, which takes a slightly new direction with gameplay and also features improved visuals over its predecessor.

Unlike Dead Trigger, which was just a single player game, Dead Trigger 2 is actually a massively multiplayer online first person shooter. This means that you will be playing besides hundreds of other players in a common world against a common enemy. Read more »

iOS 7 appears in GFXBench database ahead of release

The anticipated iOS 7 release has been long in the making, and back in April it was reportedly even behind schedule, with some Apple engineers being moved from work on OSX 10.9 to work on Apple’s mobile platform.

It seems that things are one step closer to becoming a reality, as a supposed iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0 has appeared in the results database of the popular GLBenchmark benchmarking utility. Read more »
