Angry Birds Space coming to Windows Phone after all

At first Rovio’s CMO said that Angry Birds Space will not be coming to Windows Phone. Not long after that (presumably after Microsoft made some calls), Rovio’s CEO said that a Windows Phone version of Angry Birds Space is in the works.

Now Nokia has officially confirmed at CTIA that Rovio will be releasing Angry Birds Space for Windows Phone. Nokia will be partnering with Rovio to get the game on their Lumia phones (which just might get the game before other Window Phone customers) and to bring future Rovio titles to Windows Phone as soon as possible. Gameloft shows Men in Black 3 trailer, says Asphalt 7 game is coming soon

Gameloft has a couple of new mobile game titles incoming. The first is a sequel to the long-running racing series Asphalt – Asphalt 7: Heat, while the other is a tie-in game with the upcoming Man in Black 3 movie.

Asphalt 7: Heat was first unveiled during the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S III phone, but with all the excitement, a lot of people didn’t notice. Read more »

Rovio posts strong 2011 financial results, reportedly getting ready for IPO

Rovio, a mobile gaming company famous for its Angry Birds franchise, published its financial results for the year 2011 and the numbers are quite interesting. Rovio reports 648 million downloads and 200 million active monthly users.

Keep in mind that we’re talking 2011 here, so that’s just the original Angry Birds, Seasons and Rio. The latest franchise, Angry Birds Space, only launched recently though it quickly became a hit as well. Read more »

Microsoft to allegedly launch subsidized $99 Xbox 360 with Kinect next week

The Verge has managed to get their hands on some rather exciting news for gamers in the US who cannot afford to pay the full price for an Xbox-Kinect bundle but would still want to get their hands on one.

According to their sources, Microsoft is set to launch a subsidized version of the Xbox-Kinect bundle only for $99 and it could be released as early as next week. Read more »

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ announced, here is the official trailer

Treyarch has officially announced the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise, the Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The official site for the game went live yesterday on May 1 and now we also have the official trailer for the game.

The new game takes place in the year 2025 during the second Cold War. You play as David Mason, the son of Alex Mason from the previous game, although there are flashback portions that take place in 1980 where you will also get to play as Alex Mason. Your main objective in the game will be to hunt down someone called Raul Menendez. Read more »

NVIDIA announces their top card in the stack – the GeForce GTX 690

Nvidia announced its newest flagship graphics card at the NVIDIA Gaming Festival 2012 in Shanghai, the GeForce GTX 690. Combining two GTX 680s on a single card, the 690 is going to be one hell of a performer.

Combining two chips on a board is always tricky business and contrary to what one might expect the performance is not exactly double that of a single GPU card. In fact it’s usually less than the two cards running in SLi mode. But with the GTX 690, NVIDIA is aiming to get performance that will be equivalent to running two GTX 680 in SLi, while maintaining the convenience and lower cost of having a single card in your system. Max Payne for Android gets delayed, comes next week instead

In a tweet yesterday, Rockstar Games announced that they’ll delay the Android version of the highly anticipated Max Payne game.

The game was originally planned to come out on April 26, but apparently some last-minute bugs popped up and the release date had to be pushed back. Don’t fret too much, however, because the game will be available in the Play Store some time next week. Read more »

Good news for mobile gamers came today as two of the most popular smartphone and tablet titles, Angry Birds Space and Cut the Rope, got updated with new levels.

Angry Birds Space got a new chapter – Fry Me to the Moon. It contains 10 icy levels. The update also brings 20 space eagles for free plus you will get one free space eagle for each day you log into the game starting tomorrow. Read more »

Skype for PS Vita now available

Skype is finally available on PS Vita. As promised earlier, Sony and Skype managed to seed the app to the PlayStation Store before the end of the month.

Skype for Vita is capable of everything a Skype app is supposed to do – IM, voice and video calling (over 3G or Wi-Fi), background mode, using Skype credit to call landlines and mobiles, etc. Read more »

Crysis 3 teaser trailer released

A few days ago, Crytek announced that the third game in the Crysis series will be out in 2013 and now the first teaser trailer has officially been released.

Being true to its name, the teaser shows only a handful of the key elements of the game. For starters, you see that the game is based again in New York City like the previous one, except this time it is within a sealed off portion covered by the Nanodome. Read more »
