The first Halo game targeting the handheld devices has now made it to the Windows Stores. Halo: Spartan Assault is compatible with Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8.
The action in Halo: Spartan Assault takes place between the Halo 3 and Halo 4 time frames and offers “new insights into the first missions of the Spartan Ops program, the history of the Human-Covenant wars, and the rise of Commander Sarah Palmer.” Read more »
Rovio teased its new Angry Birds game in last week and now the popular game publisher has officially announced the Angry Birds Star Wars II.
The Angry Birds Star Wars II is said to be bigger, more innovative than any of the other titles in the franchise. The upcoming Angry Birds game will be based on the prequel Star Wars movies and the gameplay will feature 30 different characters. Read more »
The name Rovio has long been associated only with the Angry Birds series. Although the company has tried to branch out a bit by releasing titles such as Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies in the past, neither managed to emulate the success of Angry Birds, which also meant Rovio kept going back to the well and kept releasing more Angry Birds game to the point where it’s now hard to tell which one’s which.

Warner Bros. Pictiures’ epic giant monster vs. giant robot action movie Pacific Rim released in theaters this week. As has often become the case these days, a movie tie-in game is not far behind thus we now have the Pacific Rim game on iOS and Android.

It looks like Rovio is all set to extend its collection of Angry Birds franchise, as the makers of the popular game say there is big news coming next week on July 15.

Rovio has released a new game for iOS and Android called Tiny Thief, the first game to come out of the Rovio Stars initiative. The game is now available for download on the App Store and the Play Store for $2.99.
Tiny Thief is a puzzle solving game, involving the adventures of a thief who is trying to escape from the authorities. It’s a point-and-click (or tap, in this case) game, where you interact with objects on screen by tapping on them and solving the puzzles. EA’s FIFA 13 has officially landed on Windows Phone 8. The member of the ultra-popular soccer gaming franchise is available in the Windows Phone marketplace exclusively for Nokia Lumia smartphones, priced at $4.99.
The Xbox Live enabled title unsurprisingly offers impressive graphics, coupled with responsive controls. Game content is well-covered too – there are 30 leagues, 500 licensed teams with 15,000 players, and 32 authentic stadiums to choose from, resulting in a hefty 951MB download. Read more »

Disney’s original Where’s My Water? game has been pretty successful. Combining simple mechanics with thoughtful puzzles, it was a great way to quickly pass time. It’s sequel, Where’s My Perry? introduced a new character and story along with some new gameplay elements.
Having said that, Where’s My Perry? did feel like more of the same, so you’d think Disney would stop at that. But they haven’t and so now we have Where’s My Mickey?. Once again, we get more of the same sand swiping action and directing of fluids around the screen but with a different character, one we are all too familiar with. But will that be enough for you to consider spending your dollar (or two) on the game or should you give this one a pass? Let’s find out. Read more »
For seasoned gamers, especially those who regularly haunt the dark gray alleys of Steam, Limbo isn’t anything new. Released back in 2010, the game was incredibly well received by everyone and has won several awards ever since.
For someone who spends considerable amount of time playing both PC/console as well as mobile games, Limbo was one of those games that I was really hoping would make it to the mobile platform. And then the developers decided to grant my wish. Available only on iOS for now, Limbo is finally out on the mobile and so we decided to see how well it has translated over to the smaller screen. The latest episode of the original Angry Birds title is called Red’s Mighty Feathers and brings 15 new levels. Those feature new gameplay where you have to defend eggs from all the pigs trying to steal it.

A few days ago, NVIDIA announced that their Android-based portable gaming console – the NVIDIA Shield – will start shipping today, on June 27, along with a price drop from $349 to $299. Unfortunately for NVIDIA and those who were waiting to get their hands on the Shield, it seems it will take a bit longer to actually start shipping.
Citing a mechanical issue that turned up during quality-assurance testing, NVIDIA has decided to push back the launch date of the Shield. NVIDIA isn’t giving any specific dates this time, saying only “next month” as the approximate launch date for the Shield. Read more »
Last week Sony released the 4.45 software update for the PlayStation 3 console, which, instead of fixing things made them worse, with many users complaining about their systems locking up after installing the update. The update was pulled back shortly afterwards but the damage had already been done to several consoles.
Sony later promised and has now delivered an update for the problem in the form of the new 4.46 update, which is now available for download on the console and on their website. Read more »
