Halo: Spartan Assault lands on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8

The first Halo game targeting the handheld devices has now made it to the Windows Stores. Halo: Spartan Assault is compatible with Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8.

The action in Halo: Spartan Assault takes place between the Halo 3 and Halo 4 time frames and offers “new insights into the first missions of the Spartan Ops program, the history of the Human-Covenant wars, and the rise of Commander Sarah Palmer.”

Halo: Spartan Assault is compatible with Windows Phone 8 powered smartphones with 1GB of RAM and Windows 8 and RT computers and slates. The game costs $6.99 and is available as of today. Note that the US version of the WP8 app currently is exclusive for the Verizon users, but it will become available for everyone on August 16.
