A new version of the popular Firefox browser, has been official launched by Mozilla. The latest release comes with new privacy options and a redesigned download manager.

Mozilla Firefox 20 comes with enhancements to private browsing, which allow you to open a new private browsing window without changing or closing the current session. The update also lets you to open multiple email accounts simultaneously in private window. Google, owner of Quickoffice, now lets users with Google Apps for Business use Quickoffice for editing docs on any Android smartphone and the iPhone. Previously, the editing functionality was available only for Google Apps for Business subscribers with iPads only so it’s good to see Google expanding.

As before Quickoffice is able to find and work with Google Drive documents and then let you save them into your Drive on iOS. Once you’ve signed in with your Google Apps for Business account in Quickoffice you’ll get the standard “Shared With Me”, “Starred”, “Recent” and any subfolders. Read more »

3DMark is one of the oldest and most used benchmark for testing computer graphics but has so far been available only on the Windows platform. Futuremark has now released an Android version of the popular benchmark, with an iOS and Windows RT version arriving shortly.

The mobile version of 3DMark borrows the Ice Storm benchmark from the full Windows 3DMark suite. While on Windows this benchmark runs on DirectX 11, on iOS and Android it will use OpenGL ES 2.0. The beauty of this benchmark is that it will let you compare scores not just on multiple devices of the same platform but also between Android, iOS and Windows devices, which few benchmarks can do right now. HTC is having a tough time in the market and the company is losing ground quite quickly. HTC’s marketing campaigns have been disappointing in the past and have resulted in the poor sales even though its latest smartphones have been pretty good. According to a leaked image from Phandroid, the AT&T and the Sprint versions of the HTC One will be up for grabs with free goodies, which include a $50 Google Play gift card and a $10 coupon, when the smartphone is purchased from RadioShack with a two-year contract. Lenovo K900, the 5.5″ phablet with dual core Intel processor, was launched at CES 2013 and has been the talk of the town among tech enthusiasts for its impressive hardware specifications. The first benchmark score of the latest flagship smartphone from Lenovo has surfaced and surprisingly, the device rubs its shoulders with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S4.

Before we get to the benchmark scores, Lenovo K900 comes with a 1080 x 1920 resolution with a pixel density of 400 ppi. The smartphone packs a punch with the latest Intel Atom Clover Trail+ processor, which has its two cores clocked at 2 GHz. Through the last couple of days we received numerous tips that Sony’s Xperia Z Burst Mode takes pictures with better quality than the ones snapped when using the default Normal or Superior Auto setups.

We decided to look into that and gave the Burst Mode a proper try. The results came out quite surprising (or not, if you have read those threads discussing the issue) – the Burst mode shots are quite different from those produced in Normal and Superior Auto mode. It’s obvious that the post processing applied to the different camera modes is quite different, but surprisingly, we like the Burst mode output better. Read more »

Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone is yet to go sale and the developers at XDA forums have already managed to gain root access on the smartphone. The tech enthusiasts have found a way to root the Galaxy S4, which runs on the Exynos 5 octa-core processor, while the root for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset version is yet to come.

SoundHound has updated the Android version of their popular music recognition app. The biggest change in this update is a new UI for Android tablet users. Although the previous UI was somewhat optimized for tablets, it still looked like the smartphone app was being stretched across the screen in landscape mode.

In the updated version, the app will now show you large thumbnail for the tracks on the side, instead of a simple, stretched out list in the previous version. Read more »

Samsung is continuing to churn out new color options for the Galaxy S III, the latest addition is Amethyst (purple for those with limited knowledge of color names). The new shade leaked about 10 days ago, but now is officially up on Samsung’s US site.

The Android-powered OUYA console has started shipping to Kickstarter backers, as promised. This is the developer console with a transparent plastic casing, while the retail unit (scheduled to hit shelves on June 4) will have a metallic outer shell.

The Kickstarter funded, Android-based gaming console is now in its final stage, ready to go into the hands of eager buyers. But when exactly will you be able to buy it?

According to OUYA, the console will start shipping to regular customers on June 4 for $99. It will be sold through Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers. For that money, you get the console, the controller with the touchpad, an HDMI cable and batteries for the controller.
