Having finalized our review of the Sony Xperia E, we’re ready to show you are battery test results from the single-SIM member of the Sony Xperia E family.

The Xperia E features virtually the same hardware as its dual-SIM counterpart – a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 1 GHz single-core CPU, and a 1530 mAh battery. It does, however, run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and doesn’t have the extra SIM card to drain it. Read more »

Google Glass to hit retail in 2014, let you take photos with a wink

Google has given Glass sets to a select few and hasn’t really revealed much about its market availability thus far.

Speaking to Radio 4 Eric Schmidt has finally confirmed that Google Glass will hit the retail shelves next year (that narrows it down) but hasn’t said anything about pricing. A number of developers have been given the option to pre-order Glass at the staggering $1500, but that doesn’t look likely as final pricing. Read more »

32GB version of Xiaomi Mi-2S sells out in just 45 seconds, 16GB version still available in China and new Hong Kong store

We have some good news and some bad news for Xiaomi fans. The good news is that the company has finally started expanding market availability and now sells its phones in Hong Kong, too. Now for the bad news – it’s still hard to get one as 200,000 Xiaomi Mi-2S units sold out in just 45 seconds.

Xiaomi is also planning to bring its smartphones to Taiwan, but it will have to start making bigger batches to meet the demand. Read more »

Android Key Lime Pie repotedly delayed, won’t make it in time for Google I/O 2013

According to a trusty source inside Google, Android Key Lime Pie is going to be delayed by 2 to 4 months, and won’t make it in time for the Google I/O 2013 conference.

The report comes from GadgetTronica, who mention that the reason for the delay isn’t so much in the development of the OS update, but rather Google trying to give OEMs a chance to get as many of their phones to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as possible. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy S4′s Group Play feature demonstrated on video, check it out

Samsung Galaxy S4, the recently launched flagship smartphone of the South Korean manufacturer comes with few unique and new features. One of the latest additions is the all new Group Play, which allows one master device to control a number of other NFC enabled smartphones.

Group Play allows you to do group music playback with several other smartphones and make a virtual sound system. The application also lets you share pictures and videos with other smartphones connected to the master device. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Note III might feature an OLED display made from plastic substrate

The next generation Galaxy Note phablet has been doing the rounds in Rumorland for quite some time now and according to the latest speculations, it might feature an OLED display, made from a plastic substrate.

Samsung Galaxy Note III is expected to feature a 5.99″ OLED screen, which with conventional RGB matrix (as opposed to PenTile), along with the Full HD resolution. The OLED display with the plastic substrate will be much thinner and lighter than that of the conventional LCD or OLED. Read more »

Facebook Home reaches 500,000 downloads in just 5 days, users less than impressed with its performance

Facebook unveiled its Facebook Home application for Android earlier in the month and it has been enjoying quite a lot of interest. The launcher, which replaces the normal homescreen with the Cover feed, has been downloaded more than 500,000 times since its arrival on the Google Play Store despite only being available to a few smartphones in several countries.

However, it looks like, Facebook Home has failed to impress the audience with its performance, as the average rating it got is 2.2 (on a 1 to 5 scale). Read more »

‘Cut the Rope: Time Travel’ for iOS and Android game review

The original Cut the Rope has been a rousing success. Known for its simple yet challenging gameplay and adorable animation style, the game was a hit with all age groups. It later spawned a sequel in the form of Cut the Rope: Experiments, which introduced new levels and gameplay mechanics.

Now, a year and a half after Experiments came out, developers ZeptoLab have released the third installment in the series, labelled Cut the Rope: Time Travel. Trailer for Iron Man 3 game from Gameloft promises to put you in control of 18 different suits

Facebook starts rolling out voice calling support for Android Messenger users in US

Facebook had earlier updated its iOS app with the voice calling feature, which had allowed the users to make free calls from US to Canada. Now, the social networking giant has started to roll out the voice calling support features to its Messenger users in US.

AllWinner reveals new chipsets with dual and quad-core Cortex-A7 processors

Android sticks and ultra-cheap tablets are often powered by an AllWinner chipset, typically one using an old Cortex-A8 CPU design. The Chinese chipmaker has now updated its lineup with three new chipsets based on the new and power-efficient Cortex-A7.

One chip of particular interest, the AllWinner A20, packs a dual-core A7 CPU, which is up to 5 times more power efficient and offers 50% better performance than the A8. It’s fully certified to run Android 4.2.2 as well. Read more »
