Entry level QWERTY-packing Samsung C3500 a.k.a. Ch@t 350 revealed

by 11 comments

Samsung has just unveiled a new member of their feature phone family. The Samsug Ch@t 350 C3500 (now that’s a mouthful) is an entry level handset with a taste for messaging. It packs a side-sliding full QWERTY keyboard and runs on the Samsung proprietary TouchWiz platform.

The screen on that one is a 2.4” LCD of QVGA resolution, which isn’t exactly ideal, but it’s about what you could expect in this class. There’s no 3G or Wi-Fi on board, so you are left with EDGE for your data transfers. Bluetooth 2.1 and FM radio are included though. Read more »

BlackBerry Bold 9780 dares come to our office, we do a hands-on video

by 453 comments

We just got a retail unit of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and you can bet we’ll be doing a full review of the thing. The BlackBerry OS 6 running smartphone is only the second RIM-made device that comes with a 5 megapixel shooter.

With a thing like that as its key feature you can tell that the Bold 9780 is hardly the most feature-stuffed handset around. Yet, much like its Bold 9700 predecessor the interest it generates is tremendous. Read more »

The next Android version might flaunt some sort of Google Music sync

by 5 comments

Now here’s an intriguing Android screenshot. You notice that Sync Music option down there? Yep, I thought so too.

Obviously Google is hard at work on some sort of cloud-based music-syncing service. My guess is it’s primarily for Chrome OS but it will obviously find place on all Android handsets out there. Or at least the ones with the proper Android version, right?

Unfortunately, so far we don’t know which OS version would that be. Read more »

KFA2 launches the GTX 460 WHDI – the first wireless video card

by 17 comments

You didn’t see that coming did you? KFA2 has launched world’s first video card capable of wirelessly transmitting raw, uncompressed 1080P, 60Hz signal to the included WHDI receiver.

The wireless signal can be transmitted up to 30 meters (100 feet) even through walls and obstacles so you don’t need to worry about putting your PC in another room. This is quite useful if you want to put the PC away from your HDTV or monitor for whatever reason, and I am pretty sure you can find one one.

KFA2 NVIDIA GTX460 WHDI is just an ordinary GTX 460 but with wireless antennas. It features 1024 MB of RAM, 256-bit memory interface and a processor clocked at 1.35Ghz.

I have to admit, the card’s industrial design looks awesome! It will be available for sale in the coming weeks in Europe, with the price still unknown.

Not only because it’s among the few Android smartphones powered by the powerful Tegra 2 platform, but also because it comes with a bunch of docking accessories, which can turn the device from a TV video player with its own remote to a slim netbook (or smartbook, if you like) with a proper screen and a hardware keyboard.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play torn to pieces, as PSP2 re-enters rumorland

by 10 comments

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just been taken apart by a bunch of curious Chinese geeks, eager to see what hides under the skin of the PlayStation phone. At this point we already know so much about the handset that it’s might come as a shock to you that it hasn’t even been officially announced yet.

The tear down treatment revealed that the two trackpads were supplied by Synaptics, while the screen is packing the Bravia Engine, much like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc display. The Scorpion CPU used is most likely identical to the one on the HTC Desire Z, but according to the source, it’s clocked at 1Ghz, rather than 800 MHz. Read more »

I know all the excitement about the Android names is so overrated, but still I’m going to pass you the news. The next Android version (whatever 2.x/3.x it turns out) won’t be called Ice Cream… but Ice Cream Sandwich. Yeah, for real.

The word comes directly from the Android chief Andy Rubin.
