Following an unfortunate incident, Swedish national Alexander Maxén reportedly dropped his Sony Xperia Z2 on the bottom of the ocean. And it wasn’t until six weeks later, that a scuba diving friend of his, finally managed to recover the device.
You can’t beat a happy ending but what makes this one special is that the smartphone lasted that long underwater at at least 10m depth and yet it’s still fully operational.
The popular home media center application XBMC (soon to be known as Kodi) is running on Android TV like a champ. Keyan Mobli, who’s part of the XBMC dev community reports that it wasn’t too much work to get it going on Google’s TV version of Android, which is due to launch in the coming months.

Xiaomi plans to launch an update for its Xiaomi Mi 2 and Mi 2S smartphones by the end of this week. The update in question is MIUI v.6, which was first mentioned at the launch of the Xiaomi Mi4.

The Siri-dominating Cortana might be included in the final release of Windows 9. Microsoft’s virtual assistant has so far received a good deal of praise for its performance on Windows Phone 8.1.

Sprint has just announced that it will start selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 on August 15, which is this Friday. The tablet will be the first in the carrier’s roster to support its Spark high-speed LTE network.
