At the press day before CES 2013 officially kicks off Intel unveiled its fourth-generation Intel Core processor, which will reportedly be able to extend the battery life of latest mobile PCs to 9 hours.

Samsung has announced the Series 7 SC770 touch monitor, the first of its kind by Samsung. The monitor has been designed with Windows 8 in mind and has a multi-touch display that supports up to 10 touch points at a time.
The monitor also has a adjustable stand that allows you to tilt the display up to 60 degrees, making it easier to use the touchscreen. The 24-inch panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Read more »
We already saw how the Windows Phone 8 Store is doing, time to have a look at the Windows 8 store. According to MetroStore Scanner, the store for Microsoft’s new computer OS has over 35,000 apps, over 22,000 of which are available in the UK.
That’s not bad, considering that the Store had only 10,000 apps at the end of October. Read more »

The HTC HD2 has quite a reputation among the developer community for managing to run pretty much every operating system out there, including various versions of Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, Windows, Linux and Android.

While it is hardly a secret that Nokia is hard at work on a 10″ Windows RT tablet, details on the upcoming slate are still fairly scarce. A fresh report however, has shed some more light on the upcoming Finnish tablet.

Earlier this year we heard that Microsoft allegedly denied HTC early access to Windows RT, the reason being that HTC does not have enough expertise in the matter and does not sell enough devices.
Now, Bloomberg is reporting that HTC is in fact working on Windows RT tablets, two of them to be precise. One of them is said to have a 12(!)-inch display and the other one will have a 7-inch display, along with the ability to make calls like several small Android tablets out there. Read more »
Lenovo has announced a touchscreen version of their ThinkPad X1 Carbon, called the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch. We reported in the past about it when it had briefly been spotted on Lenovo’s website but it wasn’t officially announced back then.
The 14-inch Ultrabook has been optimized for use with Windows 8 and supports all the basic gestures. The X1 Carbon Touch has a 14.4-inch, ‘HD+’ display, weighs 3.4 pounds and is 20.8mm thick. In fact, Lenovo calls it the world’s thinnest 14-inch touchscreen Ultrabook. Read more »
The Whatsapp team says the Whatsapp app for Windows Phone 8 will go live very soon in the Store. It will be six times faster than before and later on it will get another update with new emoji set.
The Whatsapp messenger already made an appearance in the Windows Phone 8 Store, but was quickly pulled back as it obviously required some more polishing. It seems the team is ready with the new app and you will be getting in the next few days or weeks. Read more »
