Nokia Lumia 710 competes in our battery test, here are the results [TEST]

by 49 comments

The Nokia Lumia 710 just finished our battery test course and we guess you’re all very curios to see how it did compared to the Lumia 800. The 710 has a smaller battery (1300mAh vs. 1450mAh) and a different screen, which will have a major effect on the results.

Then again, when we tested the 800 it still hadn’t received it’s battery fix update from Nokia, so things might get pretty close. Read more »

We unbox the Nokia Lumia 710 and share our first impressions [VIDEO]

by 31 comments

The international version of the Nokia Lumia 710 dropped by our office following the US-bound one and we’re ready to share our first impressions of it. The first thing we noticed was the extra large box – bigger than the boxes most other phones come in – but the contents are pretty standard.

As for the phone itself, it was a pleasant surprise. The Lumia 710 sits slightly lower on the ladder than the Lumia 800, but it has the same hardware inside along with a screen with the same size and resolution. Read more »

Nokia launches new commercials for the Lumia 900 and Lumia 710, along with a ton of other new videos

by 64 comments

The Nokia Lumia 900 was officially announced at CES this year among those who attended the event but now it’s time for Nokia to reach out to a wider audience, which means making some new ads for the phone, which they have. Also being advertised is the Lumia 710 which has gone on sale in the US on T-Mobile’s network for $49.99.

The ads, especially for the Lumia 900, aren’t particularly new and are similar to the ones for the Lumia 800 but there will be a lot of people in North America who haven’t seen these and it makes little sense to create a completely different ad when the products themselves aren’t all that different. Nokia confirms the display on the Lumia 900 isn’t PenTile

by 18 comments

It’s common knowledge that the PenTile matrix layout is something you should ideally avoid if you want the absolute best image quality. Unfortunately, a large number of devices do ship with this display technology on-board, with Nokia’s Lumia 800 being one of them.

So when Nokia announced the Lumia 900, naturally everyone was curious as to whether the 900 carries over the same RGBG layout of the 800′s display. If it did, things would have gotten worse because the Lumia 900 has a larger display but with the same number of pixels, which means lower pixel density, where PenTile’s shortcomings become glaringly obvious.
