Apple has been granted a trademark for the distinctive design of their chain of retail stores. Although the claim was rejected twice in the past, Apple managed to successfully convince the US Patent and Trademark office the third time with a lengthy, 122-page document detailing the reasons.
The trademark includes use of items such as a paneled facade of glass, recessed lighting units and lined rectangular tables, but as usual, the trademark is for the sum of parts rather than any individual item. Read more »
Apple’s stock continued to take hits even after the company posted a record breaking financial result for Q1, 2013. The drop in the stock’s price was so severe that it resulted in Exxon Mobil surpassing Apple’s market cap value, to become the most valuable Wall street company once again.
As you probably know Ashton Kutcher is going to star in a movie dedicated the life of Steve Jobs dubbed simply “jOBS”. All we’ve seen so far were photos of Kutcher dressed in Jobs’ classic attire, but now we get to see a whole scene from the movie prior to its launch.

Ah, the poor Xperia Z. It’s not even launched yet, and it has already gone through a considerable amount of abuse. Still, Sony reckons it’s not enough to get users convinced, so now it has added a new variable to the torture equation – sand.

The highly successful TV series Game of Thrones by HBO is getting ready for its third season on the small (or big) screen of your TV. The new teaser is here and it’s three times longer than the one released back in December.

Samsung is teasing a new TV that will be unveiled at CES early next year. The video is obscure as can be, but the company’s Flickr account has several images of the revamped Smart TVs, which will be showcased at CES too, and are slightly more generous with the details.
The new Smart Hub promises easier to use interface and it will serve as a content platform – the TVs will handle broadcast television as well as on-demand TV shows and movies, browse photos and support apps too. Read more »
LG has been taking a leaf of the Samsung’s marketing team book and has published an ad for its latest Optimus G, which is clearly taking a jab at Apple.

In a rather unexpected move, Dell announced it is quitting the smartphone market altogether as of next year.
