These days it seems every new Microsoft product UI speaks the same language: Metro. First it was the Zune HD, then Windows Phone 7, then Windows 8 (or whatever it’s going to be called) and now finally, the Xbox 360.
Yes, the Dashboard has gone through another UI redesign and I must say it never looked better. When I first saw Metro UI I Read more »
The Wii wowed crowds, broke records and opened the gates on the motion-control gaming environment, its innovative gameplay mechanics acting as the catalyst that spawned similar systems from both Sony with the PlayStation Move and Microsoft with the Kinect for Xbox 360, which too have reaped the benefits in the next-gen motion gaming market.
As soon as the Wii became a smash sensation there were those who asked what was coming next. Read more »
Gameloft surely is on a serious roll these days. The mobile gaming powerhouse released a multitude of trailers for upcoming video games including “9mm”, and the Unreal engine powered “March of Heroes”. Now, I have yet another on for you – it is called “Silent Ops” and, like the above mentioned two games, will come in Android or iOS flavor.
In a rather interesting fashion, the trailer of the video game looks a lot like one for a movie. Read more »
The fast growing list of exclusive titles coming to the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is shaping up to make it a serious contender as a mobile gaming champ.
Two titles have recently made an appearance in a pair of pretty awesome looking trailers, the first being Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard, a squad based 3rd person tactical shooter offering co-op multiplayer between three PLAYs or competitive versus mode with up to a maximum of 10 players, not bad and the best news of all, it’s already out. Some of you may know that Microsoft makes their own wired steering wheel set for the Xbox 360. Today they announced the new wireless version of that controller.
Now while it looks kinda cool, it fails on several levels for a steering wheel set. For starters, there are no pedals so you accelerate and brake using the controls on the front and back of the wheel. Same goes for the gear shifts. Read more »
Sony has officially launched their next generation portable gaming device, complete with a price tag, launch date (sort of) and a new name. Hitherto known as the NGP, the device shall now be known as the PlayStation Vita or PS Vita, as Sony likes to call it, although I personally much prefer saying PSV. For those curious, Vita means ‘Life’ in Latin.
As you may already know, the PS Vita has a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU, SGX543MP4+ GPU, a glorious 5-inch, 960 x 544 AMOLED touchscreen display, a multitouch capacitive touchpad on the back and front and rear cameras. There’s also stereo speakers, gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G connectivity built-in. Read more »
Sony has launched a brand new accessory for the PlayStation 3 in the form of the PlayStation 3D Display. It has a 24-inch LCD screen and supports 1080p full HD for 3D gaming.
But that’s not all. The best trick of the 3D Display is that it can display two different 3D images on screen at once in full HD, so if you are playing co-op with a friend, both of you will see two different images on the screen. You can also have split screen mode where the 3D Display will show both screens simultaneously side-by-side in 3D. Read more »

Angry Birds fans rejoice as the original title will get a whole new and exciting episode very soon. Details are scarce and there’s no info on how many levels Rovio will release, but the game’s track record would suggest at least 30.
The new episode sees the pesky pigs go underground with the stolen birds’ eggs, where our angry heroes will take flight to destroy buildings and bring down stalactites on the green devils heads. It all sounds cool and definitely fresh, just like Rovio has always done it with its popular title. Read more »
