Christian Bale being considered to play Steve Jobs in next biopic

According to a report by The Wrap, Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale is being considered to play the role of the late Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic.

The screenplay of the movie is written by Aaron Sorkin for Sony Pictures Entertainment and is based on the book ‘Steve Jobs’ by Walter Isaacson and will be directed by David Fincher. Sorkin and Fincher have previously worked together on the biopic on Mark Zuckerberg’s life – The Social Network. Read more »

Nokia takes a jab at Apple over 8GB iPhone 5c

Today Apple announced the availability of an 8GB iPhone 5c. The flavor is already available for purchase and costs €549 – just €50 less than its 16GB sibling. This is quite unattractive pricing considering the phone comes with year and a half old hardware and still costs good €100 more than the 32GB Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Anyway, we are not the only one to dislike the Apple’s overpriced gadget. Finnish manufacturer Nokia grabbed the opportunity and used it to make fun of the 8GB iPhone 5c over Twitter. Read more »

Watch this cute Magic Focus ad for the LG G Pro 2

The LG G Pro 2 camera introduces the so-called Magic Focus mode, which works in a manner similar to Nokia’s Refocus. It captures several shots of the same scene with different focus and then lets you do the blurred background effect that smartphones normally fail to produce.

Oscar selfie was spontaneous, claims Samsung

By now you’ve undoubtedly seen the famous star-studded selfie taken by Bradley Cooper at the Academy Awards this past weekend, which was done using Ellen DeGeneres’ Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Archos CEO demoes their latest rugged phone, what could go wrong?

Did you hear about the Samsung Galaxy S5 and how it’s rugged? Archos has one of those too – the Quenchua 5″ Phone. Oblivious to its mere IP54 rating however, Archos CEO is quick to dunk it in a glass of water right in front of the camera… with some embarrassing consequences.

In case you’re not familiar with the IP ratings, the second digit indicates water resistance and the digit 4 means the device can resist splashes of water, not submersion. Read more »

Nokia and HTC take jabs at Samsung Galaxy S5 on Twitter

With the online forums and the social networks already abuzz after the Samsung Galaxy S5 unveiling, some of the Korean manufacturer’s rivals added their take as well. Both Nokia and HTC took jabs at the newly announced Samsung flagship on Twitter.

As you can see above, Nokia is as blunt as it gets. The Finnish manufacturer posted an image of a Nokia Lumia device along with the phrase “Not the Samesung.” Read more »

Samsung pokes fun of Apple in two new Galaxy ads

With MWC 2014 just around the corner, Samsung is taking the opportunity to take a few jabs at a manufacturer that has never attended the trade show: Apple. The Koreans have published two promo videos of its latest products, which point their superiority over the Apple-made rivals.

The first ad shows off the larger and higher resolution screen of the Galaxy Note 3 compared to the iPhone, while the second pits the new Galaxy Tab Pro against the iPad. Read more »

Nokia employs designers to make a dress out of 35 Lumia phablets

Nokia has come up with the very interesting idea of making a dress out of Lumia 1520 phablets. The Finnish company has teamed up with Fyodor Golan Fashion House and the dress will make an appearance at this years’ London Fashion Week 2014.

The Babolat Play Pure Drive: a smart tennis racquet

Want to stop sucking at Tennis, but can’t afford a good instructor? Well Babolat may have something that’ll help you out: the Play Pure Drive.

Essentially a tennis racquet that is packed with sensors, Babolat’s racquet measures vibrational and gyroscopic data and displays how many forehand and backhand hits you’ve made and where exactly you hit the ball on the strings. You can then use this data to delineate your tendencies and try to correct them and improve your game.

The data is synced via Bluetooth, where all of the tennis-centric metrics are pushed to your smartphone or device of choice. You don’t need to interpret all of the data yourself though, because Babolat’s software will give you suggestions on how to improve your swing. Read more »
