A team at Iowa State University in the US have discovered that spider silk possesses properties that could see use within the future of electronics. The team have established that spider silk makes for an excellent heat conductor, which could lead to advances in manufacturing down the line.
The perplexing substance that is spider silk was shown to conduct heat up to 800 times more effectively than any other organic material. Professor Xinwei Wang, who is heading up the university’s research, used eight golden silk orbweaver spiders to test the notion of heat conductivity through spider silk. Read more »

American band Chairlift have released a new music video for their song ‘Met Before’. But unlike other music videos, this one actually lets you choose the events that occur in the video, which affects the story and the ending, like an RPG game.
The video starts with the main character (who is also the singer of the song, Caroline Polachek) as she follows two other characters in a class room. Right at the start you get the option to choose which one of the two you will pursue and then the video changes according. Later on, you are offered more choices that affect the way the video progresses and eventually ends. Read more »
Apple’s iPad 3 event is just around the corner, but something extraordinary has happened. Magician Simon Pierro has got his hands on an iPad 3 ahead of its announcement and reviews its magical features.

Popular comic book company Marvel Comics has released 80 of its classic graphic novels on the iBookstore. Although, Marvel has had a dedicated app for the platform for a while now, you could only purchase single comics through it.
The first batch consist of a wide variety of graphic novels from over the years encompassing several genres such as action (X-Men: Messiah Complex), suspense (Secret Invasion), mysteries (Castle: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm), literary adaptations (Pride & Prejudice) and children’s tales (Wonderful Wizard of Oz). It is made from Huawei handsets, and aims to tell the world that the Chinese giant is ready to play alongside the heavyweights on the market for smartphones and tablets.
