Hilarious new iPhone ad parodies social network addicts

iPhone users are among the easiest prey to poke fun at. We’ve all seen Samsung’s iSheep-targeted ads, and we won’t even go into the flame wars found in some of the comments sections on our site.

Video artist Adam Sacks has taken the joke one step further by making a hilarious fake ad about the next-gen iPhone 5 in which he parodies people addicted to using their phones as a replacement for having a social life. Read more »

Guardian photojournalist captures the London Olympics with little more than an iPhone

Dan Chung, a photojournalist on Guardian’s payroll has realized an interesting idea – capturing the all you can eat 2012 Summer Olympics action with a smartphone.

The device in question is an iPhone – a 4 and 4S. To aid him in making the results matter he uses the Snapseed photo editing app and occasionally some add-ons like binoculars and special lenses. Read more »

The folks at Gameloft have chosen a rather original way to tease their first video game, which will use the Unreal engine. The company has released a piece of artwork, which suggests something bloody an epic coming our way.

MGM released a teaser of the new Bond movie last May. It’s just today though when we get to see the full-length trailer of 23rd Bond movie called Skyfall.

Nexus 7 gets an unboxing video, starring UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and the ninjas

Google has a tradition of doing unboxing videos of each of their Nexus devices. The videos aren’t made by Google themselves, merely sponsored, with Patrick Boivin being the real mastermind behind them.

In each of these videos the theme has been a bunch of toy ninjas unboxing the phone, shot in stop motion animation. But for this video, Boivin managed to rope in GSP, the mixed martial artist and the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC, Georges St-Pierre, who takes part as Dr. Paul. Read more »

This is the new Easter egg in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Google has a traditionally been incorporating an Easter egg inside every version of Android, that can be viewed by repeatedly tapping the Android version number within the Settings app. In Ice Cream Sandwich, you could find the Android Ice Cream Sandwich logo and if you touch and hold it, it would expand and eventually you’d see a Nyan Cat style animation of the logo.

In Android 4.1, you see a Jelly Bean with the tell-tale Android antennae on the top and if you press and hold the image, a large number of cel-shaded jelly beans appear on the screen and you can flick them around as much as you like. New Google Easter egg has you defending search results against invading ‘zerglings’

Google is well-known for its doodles, but the search Easter eggs are where the real fun starts (e.g. tilt, do a barrel roll). The latest of those shows up when you Google “zerg rush”, which leads to your search results being attacked by a swarm of angry O-s.

It’s up to you to defend the search results – it’s not quite Starcraft but the APM counter surely woke up some forgotten old habits and I started clicking on the O-s like mad. Read more »

Domino’s Pizza delivery scooters bring uncontrollable laughter, delicious pizza

Electricity-driven vehicles are great. They hug trees and save polar bears like nothing else, but they have one major flaw. They are almost perfectly quiet. Thus, they threaten pedestrians and other motorists, which might not hear them approaching.

To work around this, Domino’s Pizza has created what it calls a “Safe Sound” box, which is placed on their pizza delivery electrical scooters . And the result? Hilarity ensues on the streets of the Netherlands. Read more »
