Starting today, BestBuy has a great deal on the current-gen MacBook Airs. You can buy them for $200 off Apple’s regular retail price.
I’ve never seen Apple products get such a deep discount – the prices are lower than those of Apple’s refurbished stock of MacBook Airs. I don’t know about you, but I had to double check that it’s not Black Friday all over again. Read more »

A surprise leak on the XDA forums gave the Motorola Atrix 2 users access to an official Jelly Bean ROM for their smartphones. Under its new management, Motorola announced certain phones won’t be updated anymore. Still, for most of the handsets released in 2011 or later the update was to be guaranteed.
The Motorola Atrix 2 was released in October 2011 but it was never on the white list of the devices lucky enough to get an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The highly successful TV series Game of Thrones by HBO is getting ready for its third season on the small (or big) screen of your TV. The new teaser is here and it’s three times longer than the one released back in December.
That said, it’s irritatingly short as it only runs for 45 seconds. Yeah, I hate teasers, I am more of a trailer type of guy. But I digress. The first episode of the new season will be aired on March 31. Read more »
Nokia’s Xpress Browser is the default web browser on the Nokia’s Asha lineup and it’s also an optional download for the Lumia phones, running on Windows Phone. Nokia prides on the capabilities of the web browser to compress data and reduce traffic.
To accomplish this Nokia servers process and compress all data to and from the mobile device. But has it occurred to you that in the process Nokia’s servers are also decrypting the information sent over the allegedly secure HTTPS protocol, which you may have thought no one has access to. Nokia does not refuse that, but claims you shouldn’t worry, as nothing is recorded. But can we trust it? Read more »
Samsung announced its new lineup of Smart Cameras 2.0 at CES 2013. Featuring no less than six new models, the new Smart Camera lineup allows users to share their images directly from the camera or to control the camera with their Android smartphone or tablet.

If you’d like to know what beats a lengthy live streaming of a hot device announcement – that would be the shorter edited version, which only shows the highlights. Good for us, because we now have the highlights video of Huawei’s press conference, held yesterday at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. The event saw the announcement of the Huawei Ascend Mate and the Ascend D2.
Last night Huawei’s press conference was not streamed live (unlike Samsung’s and Sony’s) so we were kinda left out of the fun. Luckily, we had our own reporters there so we knew what was going on.
Now, however, we have the chance to watch the most interesting moments with our own set of eyes. Interested? Join in. Read more »

After showing you the first Huawei Ascend D2 promo videos yesterday, today we have yet another one, showing the intricate process of creating the body of the smartphone out of a single block of aluminum.
Creating the metal unibody for the Huawei Ascend D2 reportedly involves 161 different manufacturing process. The end result however, is impressive, I admit. Read more »

We enjoy putting phones through their paces in our office, but as a manufacturer, Samsung too subjects its phones to a host of reliability tests before launching them on the market. And it’s a different type of tests, mind you. A Samsung made video gives you a rare glimpse behind the curtains of their test facilities.
It’s a video ad, that’s alright, but none of these tests seems staged. I’m sure most (if not all) Samsung phones go through stringent testing procedures like these (even employing the help of “I sat on my phone” buttocks dummy). Key press tests, USB socket rigidness, twisting and flexing, abrasive action by vibrating foreign objects, and even rain – it’s all there. Read more »

His lineup will be called i.am+ and the first accessory will be shell, which adds a real 14MP camera to the smartphone.
“We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock you phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera.” – says Will.i.am. Read more »
After telling you all about the greatest deals we could find in the Google Play store yesterday, today we thought it’s high time to scour the Apple iOS AppStore and bring you the best deals this week. I have the honor of taking you through the titles that had their prices slashed today or a day or two ago.
The links I’ve prepared point to the online version of the US AppStore, but usually you can find the same app in your own regional stores at (relatively) the same discount. Ok, let’s not waste any more time and get to the lists. Read more »
