It’s a good week for Galaxy devices. First, the Galaxy S II got Jelly Bean thanks to CM10, then it was the original Galaxy S and now the latest of the bunch – the international Galaxy S III.
You could take the early build of the Android 4.1-based CM10 for a spin, but keep in mind that some things may not work properly and others at all.
Replacing a hammer with a smartphone isn’t

Remember when Samsung said that the I9000 Galaxy S simply doesn’t have enough power to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich? What if we told you that not only is that untrue, but the smartphone can also handle Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The proof was, as usual, delivered by the omnipotent indie devs over at XDA-developers and came in the form of a Jelly Bean-based ROM, which performs flawlessly but for a couple of minor bugs.
Panasonic has unleashed a whole bunch of new camera upon the world, six to be precise, which includes some superzoom cameras, a mirrorless camera and a premium point and shoot.
The first is the LUMIX LZ20 (pictured above), which is a budget superzoom camera. It has a 16 megapixel sensor and a 21x optical zoom on the 25-525mm lens. The LZ20 can also record 720p videos at 30 fps and has a 3-inch, 460k dot display on the back.
Square Enix has finally ported its game – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – on to Android. We reported that this game is coming to Android way back in September last year, when it was supposed to arrive in November but it took nearly a year to get released. Meanwhile, the iOS version has been selling since last year and even the PlayBook got it in April.
Like we said back then, this version of the game will be exclusive to the Xperia series of devices for a limited time. Also, not all Xperia devices but just the Xperia S, Xperia ion and the Xperia PLAY. Every other device will simply show up as incompatible on the game page.
Meizu MX 4-core is company’s second phone we have the pleasure to review. It looks exactly like the dual-core Meizu MX, but adds two additional Cortex-A9 CPU cores and a more powerful GPU to bump the performance.
The Meizu MX 4-core runs on the so-called Flyme OS 1.0 which is based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The customizations run a lot deeper than any other UI we’ve seen, but they cut off features instead of adding new.
The LG Optimus LTE smartphones have reportedly crossed the 4 million sales mark globally.
The best performers among what turned out to be LG’s most successful lineup in a while are the Optimus LTE and LTE Tag, while the Krait-powered LTE2 has sold more than 400 thousand units in South Korea alone.
The new Dropbox update isn’t about increased space. Instead, the company has announced some novelties in the folder sharing options.
Now, when sharing a folder with your buddies or colleagues you can explicitly specify who can re-share it and invite more people to access it. Granted, the update isn’t as major as some of the service’s most recent, but it’s a nice addition to have.
The Krait powered Qualcomm S4 chipsets are great, right? They give you the best per-core performance of any architecture out there and have the best power efficiency thanks to that 28nm manufacturing process. The only problem is that Krait-powered chipsets are only available in dual-core flavor for now, while competing solutions give you twice that.
It seems as though that this might change sooner than you think, as Qualcomm have just previewed their first S4 Pro chipset (the MSM8960 belonged to the lower-standing S4 Plus series). The Qualcomm APQ8064 was shown powering a development tablet with its four Krait cores and Adreno 320 GPU.
The Xbox 360 is no stranger to limited edition bundles and the cool thing about it is that not only do you get a copy of the game with it but the entire console goes through a makeover to match the theme of the game.
Another such new limited edition Xbox 360 bundle is now heading our way and it is the Halo 4 bundle. And as you can see above, it will comes with a matching blue Xbox 360 and controllers.
Nexus 7 users trying to install Instagram on their shiny new tablets would until now have gotten an unsupported device message. Lucky for them, they don’t have to wait for long as Instagram has already issued an update that adds support for Google’s newest tablet.
Although one might wonder why would anyone need Instagram on a tablet that doesn’t even have a rear camera, it would at least allow you to check photos uploaded by others on that 720p IPS display. And you can always take a picture with the front camera if you ever wanted to.
Microsoft has announced the newest version of their office suite of application, Office 2013, or as they call it, the new Office. The new Office comes with a host of new improvements, including changes to the UI as well as under the hood.
The most noticeable change is the new set of icons for all the apps within the suite. Just like the Windows 8 icon, Office icons feature a monochrome icon with a tilted perspective. The user interface of the applications has also been slightly modified to fit into the new Metro UI on Windows 8. However, the application isn’t designed entirely with the Metro UI because at the end of the day it will be running within the desktop mode in Windows 8.
The HTC HD2 has something that a very few phones have and that’s a strong developer community behind them. That’s why HTC HD2 owners can now enjoy Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running on their beloved device.
The ROM, despite being in pre-alpha state, has the basics covered. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Calls and Data are working, but unfortunately camera and video playback are still not supported.

Even though in an early stages of development, CyanogenMod 10 is gaining speed. First, it was the LG Optimus 4X HD running an early preview and now we’ve got the Samsung Galaxy S II I9100G’s CM10 ROM.
Recognized developer Codeworkx has successfully made a CyanogenMod 10 based ROM for the I9100G, which however isn’t recommended as an everyday driver for inexperienced users.
