As you probably know Ashton Kutcher is going to star in a movie dedicated the life of Steve Jobs dubbed simply “jOBS”. All we’ve seen so far were photos of Kutcher dressed in Jobs’ classic attire, but now we get to see a whole scene from the movie prior to its launch.

Now that our review of the Nokia Lumia 510 is over, we are ready to share the details on the smartphone’s battery test. It’s the first smartphone to run on Windows Phone 7.8 and is probably the one with least powerful hardware, so we were interested how it would do.

The Lumia 510 shares many specs with the Lumia 610 we met with last summer, but comes with a 0.3-inch bigger display (that’s a more space to light up) and 4GB less of storage. Read more »

Samsung has been quite busy with maximizing the usefulness of the front-facing camera of its smartphones. So far it has Smart Stay, Smart rotate and face unlock with slightly better security. A couple of trademark filings reveal that two more features might be no the way – Eye Scroll and Eye Pause.

The filings are just to trademark the name and don’t include any info on what the two features are yet (at least no info has been made public yet). Still, it’s easy to imagine what they might do. Read more »

The Galaxy Note 8.0 slate was already confirmed by JK Shin – the head of Samsung Mobile Communications. The official announcement is expected to happen at MWC 2013 next month in Barcelona.

Speaktoit Assistant, or just Assistant, is one of the most popular virtual personal assistants for Android out there and today it has received a major update full of cool new features.

The app’s briefing mode can now not only read the latest news to you, but also tell you which of your Facebook friends have a birthday today. You can also assign your friends different nicknames, so you are not tied up on always saying their full names when you need to contact them. Sub-$200 tablets usually cut too many corners to deserve to be recommended over a Nexus 7, but the Hyundai T7 might break the mold. It’s a 7” tablet that uses Samsung’s Exynos 4412 chipset, the same one found in the Galaxy S III.

For $166 the T7 offers a 7” 1280 x 800 IPS LCD screen (another nice surprise, as cheap tablets usually go for WSVGA screens) and is actually better than the Nexus 7 in several areas. Read more »

Sony recently unveiled its Xperia Tablet Z in Japan, but the slate might be making its way out of the Land of the rising sun quite quickly. The Xperia Tablet Z, which is the thinnest and lightest 10.1″ Android tablet in the market, has been listed by the popular Finnish retailer Verkkokauppa, hinting that the international launch is not too far away.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z can be pre-ordered for a steep price tag of €799.90 (about $1050). Read more »

Temple Run 2 is one of the most awaited games of the year and the good news for all the folks with an Android smartphone out there is, the game has now officially launched for the Google OS and is available for free in the Play Store.

Temple Run 2 has been redesigned with new graphics and new environments. The new obstacles should help make the game more interesting and there are added powerups. Apparently, each character in the game has a special power now, while the number of achievements has been increased to make the game even more addictive. Read more »

Google has announced a new version of their Image Search service. The changes are specifically targeted at improving the time required to find and download images.

Previously, clicking on a thumbnail in the Image Search results would load a silly iframe where the selected image was floating on top of the source page. This considerably increased the time required to access the image as the browser would be loading the image as well as the source page simultaneously. What Google has done now with the new Image Search is eliminate the iframe page altogether and display the image directly within the search results. Read more »

Microsoft has released the Windows Phone SDK update for Windows Phone 7.8. It brings two new emulator images with WP7.8 running on a 512MB device and WP7.8 running on a 256MB RAM smartphone.

More importantly, the launch of the 7.8 SDK, suggests that the update itself is going to start seeding to users around the global very soon. Read more »

AMD clearly hasn’t had the best of times recently and the company has ended Q4 rather poorly, with the company reporting a net loss of $473 million. AMD has managed to generate revenue of $1.16 billion for the fourth quarter, which is still a 9% decline sequentially and 32% year-over-year.

AMD’s operating loss has been reported at $422 million and the company has lost about $0.63 per share. Read more »

Sony’ personal content station, which was briefly showcased at the recently concluded CES 2013 is set to be launched on April 30th in Japan.
