Some of you may be familiar with CPU-Z. Designed for Windows PCs, it is the go-to application to find out detailed information about your system, from your CPU to motherboard, chipset, GPU, memory and much more. CPUID, the creators of this application, have now released a version of CPU-Z for Android.

As you can expect, CPU-Z on Android gives you lowdown on your device. A yet to be revealed ASUS made tablet, carrying a Nexus brand name has made an appearance at the FCC. The revealed specs of the upcoming slate make it more than likely to be the highly-anticipated second generation Google Nexus 7.

The specs of the ASUS tablet include a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, front and rear cameras, LTE radio, and a 4,000mAh battery. Read more »

Another superhero movie, another movie tie-in game. It’s hardly a surprise then that Warner Bros. have followed the launch of the movie with a game for iOS and Android. Named identical to the movie, Man of Steel is now available on the App Store (separate versions for iPhone and iPad) and the Play Store.

Man of Steel is a third person action game where you engage enemies one at a time. It has the same basic gameplay method that was pioneered by Infinity Blade, where you have to swipe on the screen to attack your enemy and then press buttons on the screen to dodge their attacks. Read more »

Microsoft has released a version of Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers for the iPhone. Although not quite the full Office suite that everyone was expecting, Office Mobile will let Office 365 users view and edit their Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents stored online right on their iPhone.

With Office Mobile, you can access documents stored on SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro or SharePoint. You can view as well as edit the documents within the app and it keeps a tab of your recently opened documents. All changes made are instantly saved online but if you don’t have a connection you can continue editing the document and the changes will be uploaded as soon as your iPhone is connected to the internet. Google has released updates for both the Play Music and the Google+ for Android. First up, the Play Music features faster downloading of songs, which means songs you have stored online in your account are downloaded much quicker than before.

Other changes include new settings for mobile network bandwidth usage, search quality improvement and reduced data usage overall. Read more »

I’ll admit, when I first heard about PvZ: Garden Warfare, I wasn’t particularly thrilled at the direction the franchise was taking and it just came across as an attempt by EA to milk it for its popularity. But I must say, having watched the new gameplay video, I’m glad that I was wrong and this might just turn out to be one of the most fun games of all time.

EA showed the Garden Warfare gameplay footage when they announced the game at E3. It is a 3D, third person shooter, as expected but the co-operative multiplayer is what makes this game seem so much fun. In the video below, you will see four players assume the role of four different plants, which are all decked in glorious 3D thanks to the almighty Frostbite 3 engine, the same stuff that is powering Battlefield 4. A week before its scheduled announcement, the previously tipped Samsung Galaxy NX appeared in press and live images. The photos confirm that Samsung is about to release a mirrorless camera which boots Android – right in line with what Samsung’s CEO JK Shin told the press today.

Samsung CEO JK Shin has been talking to the press about the Galaxy S4 sales and patent disputes, but somehow in the middle of all that he confirmed that the company is working on two Android-powered cameras.

One is a mirrorless camera and will presumably be part of Samsung’s NX series (allegedly called the Galaxy NX) and the other will be the Galaxy Camera 2. Read more »

Google’s Gesture Search – the nifty Android capability which lets you quickly access contacts, settings, applications and more through the use of on-screen gestures – has received an update which extends its character recognition to cover over 40 new languages.

Yesterday, Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy S4 zoom, which is part smartphone and part point and shoot camera. And they have now released a three minute long video that demonstrates the camera capabilities of this device.

Unlike some of the other Samsung videos in the past, this one cuts to the chase and actually shows what the phone is capable of. Even the little story of the girl going around and taking pictures is likable this time. You get to see the design of the phone in action, particularly the multifunction ring around the lens, along with features such as in-call photo share, 16 megapixel sensor, 10x optical zoom, optical image stabilization and the various camera modes and sharing options. Google has launched a new application for Android that will allow you to print your documents wirelessly over the cloud.

Your printer obviously needs to be connected to the internet and if it is supported it will show up in the Share menu on your Android device when you are in a webpage or viewing a document. Read more »
