First HTC Butterfly S promo video boasts big battery, HTC Zoe and BoomSound

The HTC Butterfly S went official right on schedule and the first promo video is already out. The phone combines HTC’s two 1080p phones, the HTC Butterfly and HTC One, into a new flagship. It brings some of the duo’s best qualities, including the UltraPixel camera with Zoe, the BoomSound stereo speakers and quad-core performance.

It’s time for yet another Humble Bundle and as usual this one brings some great new games for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. In case you are unaware, Humble Bundle lets you choose your own price for the bundle and also how that money is split between the developers, the Humble Bundle team and charity.

Adobe outs latest major update to Creative Cloud

Creative Cloud, Adobe’s rebranded Creative Suite, which is now the only way to get the latest versions of popular Adobe programs like Photoshop and Premier, has received a major update to most of its supported programs – 15 in total.

Samsung’s June 20 Galaxy & Ativ event will be livestreamed on YouTube

Samsung will be showing off a slew of new Galaxy and Ativ devices this Thursday in London. You’ll be able to watch it live even if you can’t actually make it to the event as Samsung will be livestreaming it on its YouTube channel.

Samsung has a number of upcoming devices that might be at the event – the Android-powered Galaxy NX camera is one, but there’s also the Galaxy Camera 2, which Samsung’s CEO mentioned in an interview. Read more »

Microsoft drops Surface RT price to $199 for educational insitutions

Microsoft has decided to make their Surface RT tablet more attractive to educational institutions by offering massive discounts. Now, schools and colleges will be able to purchase the 32GB Surface RT for just $199, which normally costs $499 to the general public.

If they choose to go with the optional Touch Keyboard Cover option, then it would set them back by $249 instead of the usual $599 and the Type Keyboard Cover model would cost $289 instead of $629. All models come with Microsoft Office as standard. Read more »

Skype video messaging service now available on the desktop and mobile

The Skype video messaging service is finally out of beta and is now available to all Skype users. It is available on the desktop in Skype for Windows desktop, Windows 8, OS X and on the mobile for Skype for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry. The service is currently not available on Windows Phone.

For those who don’t know, Skype video messaging lets you send short video messages over Skype. Unlike your regular video calls, the recipient of these messages need not be online when you send them and can view them whenever they log into Skype. Basically, video messaging is to video calls what SMS is to voice calls. Read more »

An upcoming mysterious Facebook event has several sources speculating that the social network might be adding video support to its Instagram platform.

Samsung starts mass production of PCIe SSD, your storage is about to get 2.5 times faster

Samsung has confirmed that it has started mass production of the new PCIe-based (PCI-Express) solid-state drives, which bring about 2.5 times performance boost over current SATA-based drives and around 7 times more than a conventional 7200 RPM hard-drive.

The new XP941 PCIe-based SSDs are also smaller than their predecessors making them ideal for use in ultrabooks. Read more »

Prototype iPad 5 and cases for it leak, suggest an iPad mini-like design

The iPad mini is selling well and Apple might be thinking of adopting its narrow bezel design for the big iPad too. Photos of a prototype iPad 5 along with cases for it have leaked, but we only have someone’s lap to give us a sense of scale (otherwise it might just be an iPad mini, take this with a pinch of salt).

The iPad uses a 4:3 screen, which makes it quite wide and the iPad mini got around that with very thin bezels on the left and right of the screen. Read more »

Nokia takes a jab at Samsung on Twitter

Twitter wars are picking up pace recently. First it was HTC, Samsung and LG that exchanged pleasantries on the 140-character network and now it’s Nokia, who used a fan-made Condescending Wonka meme, originally posted on Nokia’s Conversations Blog to attack Samsung.

The meme clearly targets the Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom and its fatty 15.4 mm waistline. Read more »

Jay-Z’s upcoming ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ album will be a free download for the first million Samsung Galaxy owners

Samsung has signed a deal with rapper Jay-Z to give away the artist’s upcoming album – Magna Carta Holy Grail – for free for the owners of Samsung Galaxy devices.

The offer is available only for owners of the Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note II. You will have to download the free app that will be available on the Play Store on June 24, which other than giving you access to the free songs also provides an inside look into the album. HTC giving away $25 Play Store credit with HTC One purchase

In a bid to attract even more buyers, HTC has announced that it will be giving away $25 worth of Google Play Store credit along with the purchase of every HTC One in the US.

In order to redeem this offer, you will have to purchase the HTC One on or before July 15, 2013. Once you do that, you will have to register the device with HTC and then you can redeem your $25 credit from the Play Store. This will let you download all the content available on the store, including apps, games, movies and TV shows, music, books and magazines. Read more »

Alleged Logitech gaming controller for iOS 7 leaks out

A blurry image of what looks like an upcoming dedicated gamepad for iOS devices has made the rounds on the internet. Despite the far from perfect nature of the photo however, the large white Logitech G-series logo on the controller’s left side leaves little doubt about who its manufacturer is.
