Angry Birds Space just got stripped from its fastest growing mobile game laurels. Imangi Studios’ Temple Run 2 snagged the title away from Rovio by hitting 50 million downloads in 13 days – a cool 22 days quicker than what it took Angry Birds Space.

An untethered iPhone 5, iPad mini jailbreak may be finally launching this weekend

Ah, the iPhone 5 jailbreak is an unfulfilled dream of many, but it’s still as elusive as ever (the iPad mini one, just as well). Or are they? An independent dev group, which calls itself the Evad3rs, claims to have a jailbreak solution almost ready for the masses – called Evasi0n – and it should launch this very Sunday.

Not only that, but the jailbreak should work on all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches running anything from iOS 6.0 to the latest iOS 6.1, as famous iOS community hacker MuscleNerd has confirmed personally on Twitter. Read more »

Facebook for iOS updated with voice messaging and the ability to add timeline videos

Facebook is by far the most popular application in the iOS App store, and the good news is that the app is updated with voice message recording, the ability to post videos to the timeline, along with an improved Nearby tab.

The latest version of the application allows you to record voice by just tapping the ‘+’ button, which is located next to the writing box, then tap on the ‘Record’ option and hold down the record button while you talk. Read more »

Gameloft releases trailer for Blitz Brigade, coming soon to iOS and Android

Looks like someone at Gameloft left their scanner on again and out comes another clone of a popular game. Called the Blitz Brigade, Gameloft has now turned to Valve’s highly popular Team Fortress 2 as a source of inspiration for their next game.

The company has released a trailer for this game, which, although does not show any in-game footage, does show two teams of red and blue color battling it out over a large open map. It also shows just how similar the game looks to Team Fortress 2, including the game characters. Read more »

YouTube Capture for iOS gets 1080p video uploads and social sharing options

Twitter introduces Vine, a new way to share short, looping videos

Twitter has announced a new service called Vine, which lets you share short looping videos on Twitter. The videos can be up to 6 seconds long with sound and loop automatically on the website like an animated GIF.

To capture one of these videos, you will need to download the Vine application, which currently is only available for the iPhone and the iPod touch. The app is very similar to the Instagram app, but instead of square images you see square video clips on your timeline. Read more »
