OUYA announced that it will begin shipping its Android gaming consoles to Kickstarter backers next month, on March 28. The consoles are already in production, so tens of thousands of early believers will get to enjoy OUYA three months before everyone else.

Ubisoft has just announced the fourth major installment of the Assassin’s Creed saga – it’s called the Black Flag. The game is currently in development but will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, once it’s done. Update: Ubisoft has confirmed the game will also launch on the next generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720). It also announced the release date – October 29, 2013.

After curiously launching only in New Zealand on the App Store, EA has now finally released Real Racing 3 globally for both iOS and Android devices. The game is free to download and weighs in at 716MB on iOS.

NVIDIA is primarily a GPU company and it utilizes its close relationship with game developers to promote its products. The new Tegra 4 chipset is no exception and the company already announced 5 more games that are specifically optimized for the chipset.

The Tegra Zone has been around since the Tegra 2 came to be and it is a platform for showcasing Tegra-optimized (Android) games. The Tegra 3 optimized games looked pretty good, but the newly announced chipset is massively more powerful than that – NVIDIA went from 12 cores @ 520MHz architecture in Tegra 3 to 72 cores @ 672MHz in Tegra4. As was widely expected, Sony announced its upcoming PlayStation 4 gaming console at the February 20 event. While a lot was said about the console at the event, we still don’t know what it looks like or how much it would cost.

But let’s talk about what we do know, starting with the hardware. For the PS4, Sony is using an x86-64 AMD processor with an integrated 8-core ‘Jaguar’ CPU and GPU. The GPU is capable of delivering 1.84 TFLOPS of performance, which pegs it slightly above AMD’s Radeon HD 7870 desktop GPU announced last year. The PS4 will also have 8GB of GDDR5 memory with around 176GB/s of memory bandwidth. Read more »

NVIDIA has officially unveiled its GTX Titan, a powerful graphic card, which has the ability to power the world’s first gaming supercomputers and comes with 2,688 CUDA cores, 6 GB of GDDR5 RAM and 7.1 billion transistors. The 10.5″ powerhouse also has the ability to push 4,500 gigaflops of raw power.

The latest graphic card from the American company was in action, bootstrapped to two others running together and the GTX Titan powered the graphics from the Crysis 3, which was running at 5760×1080 pixel resolution across three monitors. Read more »

According to the latest report by The Wall Street Journal, Sony will be adding support for playing games streamed over the internet in the upcoming PlayStation 4 console, said to be unveiled during the February 20 event.

This shouldn’t come across as a big surprise as Sony recently acquired Gaikai, a cloud-based gaming service specializing in streaming games over the internet. The PS4 rumors are swirling thick and fast, with February 20 widely being regarded as the day Sony will finally unveil its next generation console. The sales of Microsoft Xbox 360, the successor of the popular Xbox gaming console, have surpassed 76 million units, according to Larry Hryb, the director of programming for Xbox.
