Google Voice search is great, but if your language isn’t supported you have to make do with English and hope it recognizes your accent. Well, with the latest update, Voice search should work for 100 million new users across Europe in their mother tongue.

Back at the Google I/O keynote where Google announced Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, one of the new features for the Play Store that Google talked about was Smart App Updates. This is basically delta updates for your apps, which means whenever there is a new update available for your installed apps, the Play Store will only download whatever is new within the APK instead of downloading the entire app all over again.

According to Google, Smart App Updates are only a third in size, which means you save a lot of time and data in updating apps. This feature has now been activated on the Google Play Store and some apps are already making use of it. Read more »

The immensely popular photo sharing mobile app Instagram got bumped to version 3.0, people. The update adds a number of new talents to Facebook’s recent acquisition. Among them is the ability to add location to your photographic exploits, as well as infinite scrolling.

The new feature of the application is called Photo Map and allows you to add your shots to a map with a single tap of your finger. Read more »

Sony is expanding the number of other manufacturers that will produce PlayStation Certified devices. First was HTC (announced at E3) and now at gamescom they announced that Asus and Wikipad are joining the fold.

Google released updates for two of their major apps on the same day. The first is the Google+ app, which gets some cool new features. The first one is that the Google+ app now allows teenagers to create and join Hangouts from their mobile, which wasn’t possible before due to age restrictions.

Another cool feature is that the mobile app now allows you to do Hangouts on Air using your smartphone, something that could only be done on desktop before. In case you are not aware, Hangouts on Air lets you create webcasts over Google+. Read more »

Popular aftermarket Android keyboard SwiftKey has issued yet another update, which adds a couple of new features. The most noticeable are the two new themes, Sky blue and Fuchsia.

During the US announcement of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 10.1, we found out that the Korean giant has sold 10 million Galaxy Note devices worldwide. The news was brought by Younghee Lee – Samsung’s SVP and head of global marketing.

The impressive number includes sales of both the international Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and its US sibling, the AT&T flavored, LTE sporting I717. Read more »

EA has announced that their own game distribution store Origin is now coming to several new platforms, including OS X, Android, Facebook and Smart TV.

The Origin client is currently only available on Windows and offers similar functionality as Steam. You can browse through EA’s game collection and purchase them from within the client. EA games offered through Origin are often priced lower compared to other stores, such as Steam. Read more »

Pinterest is a social photo sharing website that was released last year, where users ‘pin’ the photos they like (not necessarily their own but also something they found online) and thus share it with others. You can also follow other people and see the images they have pinned. The site categorizes pictures into various categories so it becomes easy to look at pictures from categories you like.

Last year, we got a mobile application for the iPhone, which for a long time remained the only mobile application for the service. Now, after over a year, Pinterest has released an Android as well as an iPad version of its mobile app. Read more »

In order to bring it in line with its latest software creations such as the Windows Phone OS and Windows 8, Microsoft has completed a thorough redesign of SkyDrive.com. Along with its new web interface, the software giant’s cloud service sports a number of improvements to its functionality.

We first saw the Acer Iconia Tab A110 couple of months ago in June. Back then it seemed like a really good tablet for the $200 price tag but we haven’t heard from it since, especially after the launch of the Nexus 7.
