Good news for all racing fans – the Asphalt 7: Heat has finally made it to the Google’s Play Store. The game has been released more than five weeks ago on the Apple’s App Store, but is only now coming to Android users.

Flash may get a lot of hate, but it’s still a pretty big part of the Internet and a lot of people weren’t too pleased when Adobe announced they won’t release a Flash Player for Android versions past ICS.

The Samsung I8530 Galaxy Beam is a fairly unique device with its built-in pico-projector. Samsung has put a big 2000mAh battery inside the smartphone, which is almost as big as the one on the Galaxy S III, and given that there’s only a dual-core processor and a smaller 4″ LCD to feed we expected it to fare quite well in our test.

Couple of months ago we reported that HTC has released the kernel source code for the international HTC One X. Unfortunately, the AT&T version in the US was left out back then.

The Sony Xperia go is here and is ready to get the GSMArena review treatment. The rugged droid will be eyed by many as it seems like one of the best smartphones you can take to the beach with you.

The Xperia go is descendant of the Xperia Active, a tough little droid, which we met (and loved) at the end of last year. The new smartphone fixes two of the main shortcomings of its predecessor by offering a larger 3.5″ LCD at the front and a beefier dual-core processor under the hood, so it’s certainly an interesting package. This is not the first time we see a smartphone replace a hotel’s key cards, but is probably the most interesting one.

Samsung teamed up with the Stratford Holiday Inn hotel in London to bring a completely new experience to its guests. If you pay for one of the 40 VIP rooms you will get a Galaxy S III phone with pre-installed and customized Holiday Inn app capable of check in/out, lock/unlock, TV remote, room service and more. Huawei just announced a new 7″ Android tablet – the MediaPad 7 Lite. With Google’s Nexus 7 tablet on the market, there isn’t a lot of room for 7″ droid tablets but the Huawei offering does have a few things the pureblood tablet doesn’t.

First off, the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite has an aluminum unibody design. Then there’s the 3G connectivity (with voice calls and SMS), along with cameras on the front and the back. The tablet seems to be running stock Android ICS, but Huawei really thrifty with the details. Read more »

Manufacturers are still taking their time with the official Jelly Bean updates, but the guys over at XDA-developers have been quite busy porting the latest Android distribution to various smartphones and already have quite a lot to show for their efforts.

The most recent achievement of the indie dev community is quite impressive though. The Samsung Galaxy Ace and Gio – two smartphones based on the older-gen ARMv6 CPU – got CM10 ports, which will certainly be their only chance of tasting Jelly Bean. Read more »

We already knew a quad-core version of the excellent Snapdragon S4 processor was in the works and now Qualcomm has officially unveiled it. But it hasn’t just announced the chip, and is also offering you a chance to use it on their new Mobile Development Platform (MDP), which for the first time is available in a tablet form-factor and will be sold through BSQUARE.

The MDP/T is primarily targeted at developers and hardware manufacturers who would want to try the new chipset and test their apps on it. The device runs on Android 4.0 but the software is not final, as is often the case with these developer devices. Read more »

Lenovo just put the IdeaTab S2110 on sale in the US – it’s a 10″ Android ICS tablet with an optional keyboard dock, a la Asus Transformer. The keyboard dock features a battery that boosts battery life by 10 hours, two full-size USB ports and a 3-in-1 SD card reader.

The tablet itself features a 10.1″ IPS LCD display, a 5MP main camera (with LED flash), 1.3MP front-facing camera and a pair of speakers with SRS TruMedia enhancement. The Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8060A chipset with two Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM and Adreno 225 GPU. Read more »

Samsung is obviously finding it hard to keep the revamped Galaxy Note 10.1 under wraps. The slate was announced back on the MWC in February, but never made it to the shelves and was returned to the company’s R&D center for a specs overhaul instead.

It was just yesterday when we saw the Galaxy Note 10.1 S-Pen ad on YouTube. Today, some lucky guy from Korea managed to get a retail Galaxy Note 10.1 unit and was kind enough to share the unboxing pictures and the official specs of the slate with the rest of us. Read more »

Apple and Samsung had another round in the Dusseldorf’s Higher Regional Court that ended up badly for the Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Apple scored a victory in its crusade against the Super AMOLED-packing tablet and got its sales banned across the European Union. It’s up to the members of the EU to decide whether to respect this decision or not though. Read more »

Asus have just confirmed that they will be delivering an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to three of their tablets. The company’s Finnish branch confirmed on their Facebook page that the Asus Transformer Pad 300, the Transformer Pad Prime and the Transformer Pad Infinity will all be treated to the latest version of Android.

The announcement is hardly surprising, given that all three slates are powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset with the powerful 4-PLUS-1 CPU at its heart which should easily be able to run Android 4.1. It’s always good to get an official confirmation from the manufacturer though. Read more »

The Android 4.1, Jelly Bean update is coming for the Motorola XOOM. That much we know, since Google themselves said so on the stage at the Google I/O. But there has been no sign of it so far, even though we are well past the mid-July phase now and the other two promised Nexus devices having already gotten their updates.

The Meizu MX 4-core is a revamped version of the ambitions MX smartphone, which challenged both the iPhone and its Android kin alike with a heavily customized OS. The MX 4-core, as the name suggests, uses a quad-core Exynos chipset from Samsung (like the one in the Galaxy S III) and also has a slightly bigger battery than its predecessor – 1700mAh vs. 1600mAh.

What other changes has Meizu done under the hood to improve battery life? The Chinese haven’t gone into specifics, but we saw improvement across the board. Read more »
