Audi puts Samsung-made 7.7-inch AMOLED display instead of a rear-view mirror in the new R8 e-tron

Supercars aren’t known with their high usability and the new Audi R8 e-tron is a breathing proof of this. The car doesn’t have a back window and to fix the issue Audi has fitted it with a rear-view camera which works in conjunction with a 7.7-inch AMOLED rear-view mirror.

Naturally, the display will be supplied by Samsung Display and we assume it will be the same unit used in the Galaxy Tab 7.7 slate. Audi says it preferred the AMOLED display for its thinness and power efficiency compared to regular LCDs. Read more »

OUYA Android console goes on pre-order, expected to launch in April 2013

OUYA did it! The Android-based gaming console wrapped its Kickstarter campaign, raising $8,596,475 from 63,416 backers. Missed it? Don’t sweat it, the beautiful looking thing is now available for pre-order.

Overclocked 1.6GHz Nexus 7 blasts benchmarks thanks to Trinity Kernel

As many of you know, the ASUS Nexus 7 is powered by the Tegra 3 chipset and its four main cores are clocked at 1.3GHz. Naturally, the guys over at XDA wanted to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the processor and have managed to make it run at the blazing 1.64GHz.

Angry Birds Space Red Planet update coming this fall, teaser trailer confirms

Rovio is hard at work on an update to its Angry Birds Space game. The update is simply called “Red Planet”, and is pretty suggestive as to what it will contain.

Dead Trigger is now free for iOS devices as well, points a finger at piracy again

Dead Trigger is available for download free of charge on the Apple App Store. After the tough decision was made for Android a while back, now Madfinger Games has decided to do the same for iOS.

The problem boils down to piracy, according to the game studio’s CEO Marek Rabas. He points out that the number of pirates on iOS is roughly the same as the amount of jailbroken devices. Read more »

Dropbox admits leak of account emails, no passwords have been stolen

After investigating complaints from its users getting crazy amounts of spam, Dropbox has announced that emails and passwords stolen from third-party websites have been used to hack into existing Dropbox accounts.

One of the breachеd accounts is a Dropbox employee’s and it happened to contain some project files with a number of Dropbox client email addresses. Hence the spam spree. Read more »

Leaked Sony slides reveal a new Xperia tablet

According to some leaked slides, Sony is going to release a new Android tablet under the Xperia brand, thus unifying its smartphone and tablet business into one brand.

If the slides prove to be correct, the tablet is going to feature a 9.4-inch display with a 1280×800 pixels resolution powered by the quad-core Tegra 3 chipset. Read more »
