Just days after Microsoft launched the Release Candidate of Windows 8, the company proudly announced another great achievement – Windows 7 has been sold in more than 600 million copies.

Out of the blue Google just announced it has acquired Quickoffice, the popular productivity suite for viewing and editing document files for smartphones.

Mozilla is launching Firefox 13 via its regular Release channel today and has packed it with new features deeming it a “landmark release”.

One of the first things you’ll notice when firing Firefox 13 for the first time is the all-new start page. As before, it’s minimalist in design, but now features a new navigation bar, allowing you to access your Downloads, Bookmarks, History, Add-ons, Sync and Settings.

Samsung just brought the Galaxy S III to the market and it immediately had to face an Apple iPhone 4S in a drop test.

AndroidAuthority decided to redo the drop test from last year, when the Galaxy S II met the iPhone 4S on the sidewalk curb, and survived thanks to its Gorilla Glass screen. It’s becoming a bit of a trend this – using nails and hammers on smartphones. After the Nokia Lumia 900 display took some really painful hits, a guy from Russia decided that his HTC One X could do a lot better and decided to skip the hammer part all together.

So here we have this video where the HTC One X is used as a hammer, driving nails through wood. And the results? This is not the kind of stuff I would recommend for the faint of heart.
