EA updates Dead Space for Android, adds support for Google Nexus 7

The highly popular survival third-person shooter game for Android Dead Space has been updated and is now fully compatible with the hot-on-the-shelves Google Nexus 7.

The Jelly Bean-based CyanogenMod 10 continues its march in the Android scene and now that Google has released the stock ROM images, developers have everything needed to start porting Android 4.1 to their favorite devices.

Microsoft announces Windows 8 accessories, meet the Wedge Mobile Keyboard and Wedge Touch Mouse

Windows 8 is coming in the end of October and to ensure its adoption goes as smooth as possible, Microsoft has announced the new Wedge Mobile Keyboard and Wedge Touch Mouse.

Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset review: The telepathy device you were looking for (or not)

Here at GSMArena, phones and tablets are our bread and butter, but our love for tech is by no means limited to them. So imagine our excitement when we got the opportunity to test a gadget which reads your thoughts and allows you to do cool things with it on your computer.

The gadget in question is called EPOC and is made by Emotiv. It’s a futuristic looking headset, which reads your brain activity via the scalp of your head and translates it into various actions. Gameloft’s The Dark Knight Rises hits Android and iOS, takes 1.7GB and costs $6.99

The third Christopher Nolan Batman movie, the Dark Knight Rises, is starting to hit cinemas, and Gameloft has just launched the official Dark Knight Rises mobile game to accompany the premiere.

The game looks stunning which justifies the pretty high $6.99 (£4.99) price tag it carries. Gameloft also says it’s optimized for the Google Nexus 7, so it’s a perfect title to spend your $25 Play Store credit that comes with it. Read more »

Microsoft ends the fiscal year with a bang, reports $18.06 billion in revenue for Q2

Microsoft has published its revenue reports for the Q2 and full-year 2012 (its fiscal year begins July 1) and it turns out this was one of the best fiscal years for the software giant.

With revenue of $73.72 billion and $18.06 billion for the full 2012 fiscal year and Q2 respectively, Microsoft is looking forward to Windows Phone 8 and its desktop brethren with a unmatched levels of optimism. Read more »

UK Judge orders Apple to run ads saying Samsung ‘did not copy iPad’

The Apple vs. Samsung war going on in courts all over the world saw a rather interesting turn of events yesterday.

UK judge Birss ordered Apple to put out advertisements in various newspapers and magazines stating that Samsung “did not copy iPad”. Additionally, Apple has to post a notice on its website for at least six months stating the above. Read more »

Oppo Finder is as tough as it is thin, proves it by acting as a hammer

Dropbox adds new sharing options for folders, allows you to choose who can re-share them

The new Dropbox update isn’t about increased space. Instead, the company has announced some novelties in the folder sharing options.

Now, when sharing a folder with your buddies or colleagues you can explicitly specify who can re-share it and invite more people to access it. Granted, the update isn’t as major as some of the service’s most recent, but it’s a nice addition to have. Read more »

HTC HD2 lives on, now running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with most hardware working

The HTC HD2 has something that a very few phones have and that’s a strong developer community behind them. That’s why HTC HD2 owners can now enjoy Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running on their beloved device.

The ROM, despite being in pre-alpha state, has the basics covered. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Calls and Data are working, but unfortunately camera and video playback are still not supported. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy S II I9100G gets some CyanogenMod 10 love

Even though in an early stages of development, CyanogenMod 10 is gaining speed. First, it was the LG Optimus 4X HD running an early preview and now we’ve got the Samsung Galaxy S II I9100G’s CM10 ROM.

Recognized developer Codeworkx has successfully made a CyanogenMod 10 based ROM for the I9100G, which however isn’t recommended as an everyday driver for inexperienced users. Read more »

Four by four: Quad-core Android smartphones royal rumble

Welcome to the age of the quad-core Android behemoths! As it happens, there are currently just four of them in existence and we have all of them in our office ready to flex some multi-core muscle.

The smartphones in question, as most of you probably know, are the Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X, Meizu MX 4-core and the LG Optimus 4X HD. They all have some serious processing power from Samsung and Nvidia at their hearts, using the Exynos 4 quad and Tegra 3 chipsets. But which one is the best? Rockstar releases two Grand Theft Auto V screenshots, still no release date

It’s been far too long since any new information on Grand Theft Auto V was released, but now we’ve got two screenshots to feast our eyes on while waiting for more.

The screenshots confirm that the action is going to take place in San Andreas, but we knew that from the teaser trailer already. However, a Rockstar representative confirmed in an online Q&A session that more information will be coming our way soon. Read more »
