According to a report by Reuters citing a separate duo of sources, a second-gen Nexus 7 is in the works, readying to debut at this year’s Google I/O.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z shipping date pushed back to late May in Europe

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z was definitely one of the hottest tablets to set foot at the Mobile World Congress floor this year, and we were pretty excited when we learned that we’d be able to get our hands on one in mid-April. Sadly, Sony has pushed back the slate’s European release to the end of May.

Probably the last thing you’d like to witness happening to a brand new HTC One is its quick fight with gravity, followed by the heart-breaking noise of the impact when it hits the ground. Well, that’s exactly what the folks over at AndroidAuthority did.

Apple to have negative income growth for the first time since 2003, analysts say

For the first time since 2003 Apple might report negative income growth, according to an analyst survey conducted by CNN Fortune.

Every single analyst that took part in the survey believes Apple will report a lower income for Q2, 2013 (ending in March – the company has a shifted fiscal year) compared to the same period last year. Analyst company Thomson Financial estimates Apple’s earnings per share (EPS) for the fiscal second quarter will stand at $10.18, compared to $12.30 in Q2 2012. Read more »

Will the Galaxy S4 offer 1080p@60fps video recording? Qualcomm says yes

The Snapdragon 600 version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 might have another ace up its sleeve that we didn’t know about so far. The Qualcomm-powered version is reportedly going to boast 1080p video recording at 60fps, which will be a first in the smartphone world.

Update: It turns out that it was a mistake on Qualcomm’s side. The company got in touch with us to confirm it.

HTC drops “Quietly brilliant” slogan, to adopt a more aggressive marketing strategy

Microsoft has reached an important milestone – the Windows Store now touts more than 50,000 apps available for Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop says owning an iPhone is “embarrassing”, throws one on the ground

In a rather awkward interview on national Finnish television show, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop didn’t hesitate to unequivocally call the iPhone “embarrassing” after the interviewer showed him his Apple smartphone. Shortly after that, Elop threw said smartphone on the ground.

In his nagging for more information regarding the yet unofficial, but highly rumored Lumia 928, the interviewer shared to Elop that he uses an iPhone, but also expressed his disappointment with the device and a desire to change it for a Lumia 928. HTC and Samsung exchange Twitter slaps, pretend it never happened

HTC and Samsung have started a war of words on Twitter, each mocking the other’s flagship smartphone and saying praising its own. After Samsung didn’t respond to HTC’s initial attack on the 140-symbol network, now the company’s UK branch started shooting In a response to a Twitter user, stating: “Four is always better than one ;-) (cc @htc_uk)

Eric Schmidt: Chrome OS and Android not merging for now

Google’s Executive chairman, Eric Schmidt stated today that Chrome and Android would remain separate, as they solve different problems right now. However, he didn’t really reject the possibility of them merging later down the road.

Additionally, Schmidt, who is currently attending the Big Tent Activate Summit in India, hinted that while both OS continue their separate ways, there’ll be more “commonality” between them. Read more »
