Another Windows Phone 7 running device is proven guilty of using hidden microSD slot with embedded card instead of integrated flash memory. HTC Mozart’s storage turns out to be an 8GB microSD SanDisk Class 4 card.
In case you want to upgrade it, you’ll first need to tear down the whole phone and then do some software tricks to make it work.
Yesterday’s Samsung Android event in USA was about Verizon’s exclusive Samsung Continuum. Lots of people were rooting for a Nexus Two announcement, but it seems this won’t happen in a while.
Samsung Continuum is the dual-screen Galaxy S we’ve already met in October and is a Verizon exclusive. It packs a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED screen plus 1.8-inch Super AMOLED ticker status display with four capacitive buttons between them. All this occupies the front.
Sometimes I think Japan has all the fun – take this new LG phone for example. The LG L-03C packs a 12MP camera (not that uncommon nowadays), with 3x optical zoom (still very uncommon) – but unless you are a NTT DoCoMo user, you’ll probably never enjoy making a call on an LG point-and-shoot camera…
Ever since the announcement of Windows Phone 7 OS, there was always that nagging question – will the recent (back then!) HTC HD2 will be able to upgrade and run it. Official position was that the HD2 won’t be upgraded to the new OS but it seems the dev community has not been slacking.
The good guys from over the XDA Developers camp already ported Android OS to the HD2 and now, here comes Windows Phone 7. Welcome!
Sorry to break it to our Czech fellas but their right to choose any carrier has been revoked effective immediately.
The Czech branch of T-Mobile has just established Chucktatorship and joining them seems the right thing to do as beating them is no longer an option.
Seriously though, we stumbled upon several T-Mobile ad videos, featuring no other than Chuck Norris. They are all in Czech but we think you will get the idea. Either that or the Texas Ranger will have to come and beat the sense out of you. Check them out!
From one Desire on to the next. As the Desire Z review is nearing completion, we got a visit from this guy – the HTC Desire HD. In short, it’s a GSM version of the HTC EVO 4G (sans the WiMAX connectivity). Anyway, here’s what we found inside the box…
The fact that a large portion of the Android apps don’t use the whole available screen estate is probably the main issue of the Galaxy Tab software. The great news is that a helpful hacker has just found an easy tweak that allows you to get fix that.
All that’s required is to download the free Spare Parts app from the Andriod Market and follow the instructions from the video below.
According to Sony Ericsson its crown jewel XPERIA X10 doesn’t sport the hardware needed for performing multi-touch gestures on the XPERIA X10. That’s why there’s no sign of pinch zooming in the Android 2.1 Eclair update despite that the smartphone has a nice capacitive screen.
Fortunately, some developers over at XDA didn’t buy that story and went on a quest for enabling multi-touch support on the Sony Ericsson flagship. And frankly, they’ve succeeded.
Toshiba has thrown their hat into the tablet ring with their FOLIO 100 Android tablet. The 10” tablet is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 platform and runs Android 2.2 Froyo. Toshiba are already shipping the tablets across Europe, here’s what you get…
Panasonic just announced the latest addition to their Micro Four Thirds camera lineup. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 as its full name goes is a really compact camera built around a 12MP CMOS sensor.
Capable of capturing Full HD (1920 x 1080) videos at up to 30 fps and weighing only 475 grams with batteries and lens, the GF2 should appeal to enthusiast photographers that don’t fancy the extra weight of a DSLR camera.
Yet another 3rd party web browser stormed the App Store yesterday. SkyFire 2.0 was made available yesterday, allowing iPhone users to enjoy Flash-videos without a jailbreak for the first time.
Of course it’s not quite the real thing, but it’s about infinite times better than what the native Safari offers in this aspect. The magic is done by the Skyfire servers that automatically convert embedded Flash videos to HTML5 before streaming it to the iPhone.
LG (like pretty much every tech company around) has been working on a tablet of their own. But they made a hard choice – Android 2.2 Froyo is just not suitable for tablets they said (Google said the same thing) and even though the hardware was ready, the tablet got delayed, waiting on the software.
And Android 3.0 Honeycomb seems to be it – a new leak gives us a peek at some juicy details of the LG tablet, or the LG Optimus Pad, as it will be called…
We got our hands on one of the new HTC Desire phones – the HTC Desire Z. HTC don’t make much QWERTY-packing phones, and with Android the situation is worse – the Desire Z is the only other phone besides the original Android, the HTC Dream (G1). It’s fair to say we were excited what HTC had done with the new HTC Sense UI among other things…
It comfortably coincides with the market launch of the Desire Z in the UK.
With all current touch text input methods based on the good old QWERTY keyboards you might have some serious trouble typing quickly and accurately if you have larger fingers (or a smaller display) to work with. Enter the 8pen – the input alternative that tries to make all touch-users equal, regardless of their thumb size.
Available in the Android Market since last night, 8pen arranges all the characters around four diagonal lines on your display and uses circular gestures for typing. There required accuracy is thus reduced to a quarter of the typing area, which is basically impossible to miss.
