Along with some digital still cameras, Sony also had a couple of new camcorders to announce today. The first of them is the new NEX-VG900, which according to Sony is the world’s first consumer 35mm full-frame interchangeable lens camcorder.

The VG900 uses the same 24.3 megapixel sensor that we saw on the A99. That sensor is big by DSLR standards and enormous when compared to other consumer camcorders by as much as as 40 times. Sony has announced three new cameras, the most exciting of which is the DSC-RX1 that was leaked a couple of days ago. The other two are the NEX-6, the newest member of Sony’s mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, and the Alpha SLT-A99.

Let’s talk about the RX1 first. As was revealed before, the RX1 packs in a 35mm full frame sensor within a compact camera size body. The sensor is a 36 x 24mm EXMOR CMOS with a resolution of 24.3 megapixels. To go with that sensor, the RX1 has a fixed Carl Zeiss 35mm/f2.0 lens with dedicated focus and aperture rings. Read more »

Apple’s iPhone 5 event is tomorrow, but this doesn’t stop luxurious gadget Gresso from issuing a newsletter advertising its future premium iPhone 5 case today. The iPhone 5 can be seen lying nonchalantly on the photo next to the case.

Apple has decided to sue Polish online supermarket A.pl over trademark issues. According to Polish website Telepolis, Apple has issued a request for the cancellation of the online food store’s trademark rights from Poland’s Patent Office.

The reason for Apple’s discontent is that A.pl’s brand and its sister company’s name logo (fresh24.pl) create a likelihood of confusion and may use Apple’s fame to its advantage. Read more »

We reported last month that Apple will be officially dropping the YouTube application out of iOS with the release of iOS 6 due to the expiration of their license. At the same time Google also announced that they will be releasing their own application for iOS to make up for the loss, and they have.

When Google released the Google Drive application on iOS, it was a mere shadow of the application available on Android. The most you could do in that application is view all your files and documents uploaded on Drive but the lack of editing made the application fairly useless.

Well, that’s taken care of with the latest update, which brings with it several new features, the big one being able to edit all your documents. You can now tap on your documents and enter a view-only mode but with the tap of the Edit button you can start writing and also get basic formatting options. Read more »

Instagram broke its iOS exclusivity earlier this year when it arrived on Android. Many expected, or at least hoped, that the Windows Phone version would follow shortly but that did not happen.

Nokia used the City Lens augmented reality app to tease the new Lumia phones before they were announced, but the app is not exclusive to the Lumia 920 and 820. Sure, the duo of Windows Phone 8 handsets will be getting a more powerful version, but older, WP7-running, Nokia phones can grab City Lens right now.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean ROM leaks continue and today we get the latest iteration, version XXDLI5. Early adopters have reported no major bugs so far, so we might be getting near to an official release.
