Instagram said to be arriving on Windows Phone

Instagram broke its iOS exclusivity earlier this year when it arrived on Android. Many expected, or at least hoped, that the Windows Phone version would follow shortly but that did not happen.

However, that does not mean that’s never going to happen. In fact, it might happen sooner than you you’d think. The Verge is reporting that according to their sources, Instagram is coming to Windows Phone.

It seems though Instagram won’t be building the application themselves and would probably be outsourcing the development to a third party. Microsoft may even want to build the app themselves, like they did for Facebook or at least integrate it within the OS without making a separate app.

There is no further information available about this at the moment. We’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
