Lately, it’s been quiet on the iPad Mini rumors side. When 10 Oct, the rumored invitation day, came and went, we started worrying that previous rumors have let us down. While this may be the case indeed, not all is lost, as new rumors suggest the announcement event has only been moved to October 23.
Today’s rumors are not any better than the last, but at least, they help keep our hopes high.
The Kindle Paperwhite finally made it across the pond. Amazon UK, France and Germany are already accepting pre-orders. UK users however, will be getting it a good month in advance.
Amazon UK has a suggested shipping date of 25 Oct, while both Amazon DE and Amazon FR expect it to launch on 22 Nov. The custom Paperwhite Leather Cover, which is capable of activating the reader magnetically, will be available around the same time, but it’s priced at the rather steep £31/€35.

Madfinger has released the public beta of Shadowgun: DeadZone, a multiplayer version of the superb Shadowgun currently available on iOS and Android. Shadowgun: DeadZone is currently available for free (until the beta test lasts) and is only available on Android devices running NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset.
DeadZone is an exclusive, multi-player only version of the standard Shadowgun. You play in similar environments as Shadowgun but you now have multiple characters to choose from and instead of dumb AI enemies you will be against much tougher human ones.
Google has released v3.9.16 of the Play Store application for Android and with it come some useful new features. One of the new features is the ability to delete apps from your ‘All’ apps list within ‘My Apps’. Anyone who has been using Android for a while will know that this list is cluttered with useless apps that you only downloaded once and then deleted but are now permanently part of that list. Well, not anymore.
Applications in this list that are currently not installed on your device will now have a delete button next to them, so you can instantly remove them from the list. Moreover, you can now press and hold over these items and delete a whole bunch of them simultaneously.
Since the next generation Lumia announcement lots of people have been wondering on the pricing of those shiny wireless charging accessories. Well, the good news is that it has now been revealed, but the bad news is that you probably won’t like it.
Clove UK is already taking pre-orders for the wireless charging shell, plate, stand and pillow. The accessories will be released alongside the Lumia 820 and 920, whenever the two smartphones launch.
Google has substantially updated its Google Maps Street View service, updating 250,000 miles of roads around the world.
The Street View coverage is now extended to cover Macau, Singapore, Sweden, the U.S., Thailand, Taiwan, Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway and Canada. Google is also launching special collections in South Africa, Japan, Spain, France, Brazil and Mexico, among others.
Modern day smartphones are great at many tasks, but unfortunately, swimming is not among them. Ken Hovanes learned this the hard way when he accidentally dropped his iPhone in a lake about six months ago. Google has pushed out a new update for their Google+ app on iOS and Android. One of the key new features in the iOS version is support for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. Another new feature is Google+ page owners now being able to view, post and comment from the mobile app.
