The latest figures coming out of Asia indicate that South Korea has continued its dominance as the country with the highest global smartphone ownership, with some 73% of users polled owning smartphones.

The Google Nexus 7 leaks are coming in at such rate lately, that it would be a real shock if the slate doesn’t debut at the Google Android event on Wednesday. This latest piece of the puzzle is delivered by evleaks, which got hold of a photo of the profile of the new Nexus 7.

Last week Apple’s developer website mysteriously went down on Thursday. The reason for that has now been declared by Apple in a mail sent to developers. Turns out the website was hacked and someone tried to access personal information. Following this, the website was shortly taken down.

Apple claims that all the personal information is encrypted and cannot be accessed but says that there is a chance that some developers’ names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed. Read more »

The highly anticipated second generation of the Google Nexus 7 made a couple of unofficial appearances. The upcoming ASUS-made slate showed up in a press photo, as well as a BestBuy print catalogue.

Both alleged images of the upcoming Nexus 7 fall right in line with previous leaks. The BestBuy ad points at a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It also confirms the $229 price tag for the 16GB version of the slate. Read more »

NVIDIA’s Android-based portable gaming console – the Shield, was supposed to start shipping on June 27. However, due to a mechanical issue found out during the quality assurance testing, NVIDIA was forced to push its launch date back.

The Colin McRae Rally series is the epitome of rallying games. The very first game came out back in 1998 and although the series has largely stuck to consoles and the PC, there have been a few versions for handheld device along the way.

The very first Colin McRae game that I played was actually Colin McRae Rally 2005 for the N-Gage. This might sound strange for anyone who hasn’t owned an N-Gage but it was an utterly fantastic game that set the benchmark really high for me for mobile racing games. Google is yet to announce its newest version of Android OS and will be doing so on July 24 in San Francisco. But, a second Android 4.3 test build is already available for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition, courtesy of a XDA developer.

The GoPro Hero3 action camera was launched about a year ago and has gained some serious traction among extreme sports enthusiasts. Combining a rugged build with some serious video capture credentials the Hero3 has got the attention of the folks from DxO Labs, who have done their set of scientific tests on it.

The alleged images of next-generation affordable tablet from Google have already been leaked and we even saw a video of the upcoming Nexus 7. Now, the specifications of the second-gen of the slate have been revealed in a new leak.

As expected, the second-generation Nexus 7 will sport a 7-inch FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and will feature a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.
