Samsung has announced that its Wallet service, which allows you to store and manage tickets, coupons, boarding passes, and membership cards, will no longer be available after June 30. The announcement was made via an email to the users of the service.
While any tickets or reservations made through the service would remain accessible, coupons clipped with in the Wallet will no longer be available after the service is shut down, Samsung said, adding that users’ personal information will be handled in accordance with the company’s Privacy Policy. King.com is making a desktop version of its ridiculously popular game, Candy Crush Saga. The game will be available on Windows and will even come preinstalled with Windows 10 for those who get the free upgrade for the first year.
Candy Crush Saga is currently available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and through the Facebook website as a Flash-based game but this will be the first time it is coming as a native app on desktop. The game uses your Facebook account to sync progress across all versions of the game so you can pick up right where you left off regardless of where you last played it. Read more »
WhatsApp updated the design of the Android version of its app to Material Design but it was limited to the APK downloaded from their website, while the Play Store version was still rocking the old Holo UI from the yesteryears.
After a month of releasing the Material Design update on the site, the Play Store version has finally caught up. If you choose to stick to the Play Store version (even though the ones from the website are perfectly stable for daily use) then you should update immediately. Read more »
The Samsung Gear Live smartwatch, which was announced back in June last year, is no longer listed on Google Play. The wearable, however, is still available for purchase on Amazon.
Although there is no information on why the device, which was recently spotted running Apple Macintosh II OS, was removed from the Play Store, the possibility of the South Korean company unveiling a new Android Wear smartwatch at the upcoming Google I/O conference cannot be denied. Read more »
HTC’s Android app for creating, sharing, and remixing “professional quality highlight videos” has received a new update today. The biggest new thing inside is added support for streaming content to a Chromecast, if you own one of those of course. The familiar Cast button now shows up in the action bar of HTC Zoe, and once you tap on it you can send your content to a Chromecast to view it on a TV.
This, however, isn’t the only new feature that Zoe got with the latest update. It now lets you reorder content, so even after you’ve chosen which photos and videos to include in your Zoe, you can change the order in which they’re going to be shown. Read more »
While the two members of Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab A series are already available in the US, the same can’t be said for the UK. Yet. Today Samsung announced that the bigger model of the two, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7, will be out in the UK on May 21.

After months of speculation. AMD has finally cleared the smoke around its next line of chips, based on the new Carrizo-L CPU cores. This gives us a clearer picture of what the 2015 low-power computing scene might looks like with the new microarchitecture, dubbed Puma+.
This new family of chips is the new AMD мид-tier, intended to replace the 2014 Beema chips with Puma cores. The new SoCs use a 28nm production process and share the same socket as the high-end Carrizo chips. Just like their predecessor, Carrizo-L chips cover the power range from 10W, all the way up to 25W, so we can expect to see them in various tech and form-factors. Nokia, which celebrated its 150th birthday a couple of days ago, has announced that it’s planning to cut around 70 jobs from its Technologies unit in Finland.
