After nearly two years of releasing on other platforms, including iOS, Telltale Games has ported over the first season of The Walking Dead to Android. The game is based on a comic series of the same name and features survival horror adventure gameplay.
One of the interesting things about the game is that there is very little actual movement of the character you have to do yourself and usually you just tap on the objects on screen to interact with them. Popular reading app Pocket has pushed a new update on iOS and Android that brings some useful new features, especially on Android. One of the features common on both platform is support for additional languages, as the app now also supports Chinese, Dutch, Korean, Polish and Portuguese.
The Android version also get a new fullscreen mode that supports the immersive mode on devices running KitKat, which means the app will now go truly fullscreen, hiding the controls and the navigation bar completely. Read more »

Not many people are familiar with Symon Whitehorn by name but most people know about the Ultrapixel tech he’s managing at HTC.
The company’s camera guru that stood for the Ultrapixel camera last year is in the spotlight once again, defending this year’s take on the 4 MP flagship camera in an in-depth interview with Vodafone UK. He still stands by the Ultrapixel technology and defends the 4 MP resolution as a more reliable choice in terms of speed. The latest rumors out of Taiwan indicate that the anticipated Apple iWatch is headed for a Q3 2014 release, with several Asian manufacturers entering the supply chain.
LG, the company that was initially rumored to have exclusive production rights of the wearable, will instead be replaced by longtime Apple rival Samsung. The crosstown Korean manufacturer will be handling processor and outsource actual production. Read more »

Robert Downey, Jr. (aka Iron Man) is still a spokesperson for HTC and the company just came out with a one minute video ad of him talking up the new One (M8). He starts off by mentioning HTC won “best phone” at the MWC two years in a row.

Samsung might soon release an update for the Gear Fit giving it the option to flip the display vertically. This would enable better use of the fitness tracker for certain scenarios – such as checking out the time.

Samsung has seen some great success with its 840 PRO and EVO series of SSD drives, so much so that it’s decided to rebrand its microSD and SD cards to match that nomenclature.

Some people are unhappy that smartwatches need the support of smartphones to do anything interesting. Those people would prefer if smartwatches could do at it alone – according to The Korea Herald, Samsung will make just such a watch, dubbed Samsung Gear Solo.
Samsung has filed a patent with the Korean Intellectual Property Office for the Gear Solo name, but that name might change before the smartwatch hits the market. Read more »
