Details on the availability of Xiaomi’s recently announced Mi Band fitness tracker became available. The cheap and stylish accessory will hit the shelves in China next week, on August 18.
As expected, the Xiaomi Mi Band will be priced at CNY 79 ($13).
Sony is getting ready to launch the third generation SmartWatch, according to the latest rumor. The SmartWatch 3 should be unveiled at IFA next month, most likely at the company’s event on September 3.
The new SmartWatch 3 will not run Android Wear, instead going its own way once more with Sony’s dedicated wearable OS.
If you’re getting sick of seeing “promoted tweets” in your Twitter timeline, well, get ready for Promoted Video ads to show up in there too. Twitter has announced a beta run of a new service that lets advertisers promote videos.
It works in basically the same way as the promoted tweets that have been available for a few years now – but combining those with a video card. So, in your timeline the Promoted Video ads will look just like a regular tweet that has a link to a video in it (and which you can play in-place on the Web or in the Twitter apps for mobile). Obviously though, below you’ll see that “Promoted by” mention as you do for promoted tweets.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha, the slimmest Galaxy phone to date, went official today. Most of the rumors throughout the past few months turned out correct – the metal-framed Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7″ Super AMOLED 720p display, runs on Exynos 5 Octa chipset with 2GB of RAM, and comes with a 12MP rear camera.

Sony has had great success with the PlayStation 4 console. It has been reviewed favorably everywhere and it has consistently outsold its closest rival, the Microsoft Xbox One.
Now, the PlayStation 4 has reached a new milestone: 10 million units sold worldwide since it’s launch nine months ago. In comparison, the Xbox One is said to have sold about 5 million units in about the same amount of time, although it is sold in fewer markets.
E Commerce site Newegg, which specializes in technology products, especially computer hardware, has announced that it will be expanding its reach to certain asian and european markets. The service will now be available in India, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Poland and the Netherlands.

Google has updated its Google+ Android app with Chromecast support. While the company isn’t saying anything about the new feature, it’s making Google’s social network app even more social by allowing you to share the experience on your TV.
The Google+ app joins the numerous Chromecast enabled applications. The social app makes images appear fullscreen with text on top. This makes flipping through galleries a very cool experience.
HP’s flirtation with Android devices will continue as a new phablet by the company is apparently in the works. The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab Plus has swung by the GFX benchmark and has confirmed some of its specs in the process.
Much like its predecessor, the Plus version will have a 6″ 720p display, but it will come with a Snapdragon 400 chipset with four Cortex A7 cores instead of the Marvel PXA1088 of the same core count.
Football team Manchester United management has had enough with viewers coming to the Old Trafford stadium and bringing their tablets and laptops along. From now on, those two types of devices are prohibited from making it to the stadium.
While the press release states that the football club is responding to security intelligence obtained by the UK airports and wants to ensure the safety and security of all spectators, it’s safe to assume that blocking the view of others while trying to record the game or make a selfie is enough of a reason by itself.
