Angry Birds Star Wars is, as Rovio likes to call it, Angry Birds’ biggest adventure yet. The game is based on the story of the Star Wars franchise and has birds dressed as the characters from the Rebel Alliance whereas the pigs are dressed as the Galactic Empire. After that it’s your usual bird flinging action but with some new abilities. But will that be enough to bring back gamers who have clearly flung enough birds to last a lifetime? Let’s find out. Microsoft’s latest mobile OS is getting ready for prime time and the ailing HTC is marketing its Windows Phone 8X as the “signature” Windows Phone 8 handset. We already reviewed the 8X, now it’s time to see how long it lasts in our battery test.
The HTC 8X has an 1800mAh Li-Ion battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 chipset – virtually the same specs as AT&T’s One X, expect for the smaller screen (4.3″ vs. 4.7″). Read more »
Android was first to introduce pull-down notifications, to be later adopted by iOS too, and now Windows Phone is about to follow suit.
Windows Phone 8 now has USB mass storage mode under its belt, along with DirectX graphics support, among other new services and integrations, but it seems a notification center is to land soon too via an upcoming update. Read more »

Nokia is very proud of its environmentally friendly approach to phone making and the new Nokia Lumia 820 is among its best efforts in this regard. The phone is made from recycled materials and bio-plastics (made from inedible plants) and doesn’t use a number of materials that cause environmental issues.

Nokia’s future is riding on the success of its Windows Phone handsets and the Finnish company is sparing no effort to make them a success. Nokia has just started a new ad campaign called “Time to #Switch”, which wants to entice you into buying a Lumia phone (the Lumia 820 is already on sale in the UK and it and the Lumia 920 will soon hit US carriers too).

Oh No You Didn’t! HTC went on Facebook to flaunt its slender Windows Phone 8X device and take a jab at “that other Windows Phone”Nokia Lumia 920 for being “more than 20 pennies” heavier than the WP 8X.
A bit of research and we find that the American penny (or otherwise one cent) weighs exactly 2.5 grams. So we calculated 20 pennies to be precisely 50 grams, meaning HTC is referring to the 55 g heavier than the WP 8X Lumia 920. Ouch! Read more »

The Nokia Lumia 510 aims to be the company’s most affordable Lumia handset, but still bring excellent features like a 4″ screen and a 5MP autofocus wide angle amera. It will run Windows Phone 7.5 at first (complete with Nokia Drive navigation), but it should get the WP7.8 update too.

The Nokia Transport app for Windows Phone 7 dropped its beta tag back in July, but now it’s time for another beta – this time of a new version of the app -2.3. The new release brings easier searching, simpler to understand directions and constant updates of the changes in public transport.

Nokia has released the beta version of a new browser called Xpress for Lumia that is based on the same principle as the browser on their Asha phones, which itself was based on the Opera Mini.
The Nokia Xpress for Lumia browser is designed exclusively for Nokia Lumia phones and claims to compress data by up to 90 percent, saving your data, time and money. Read more »
The Nokia Lumia 510 has obviously overcome its camera shyness, and after posing for a live photo earlier today, is now featuring in a hands-on video.

Nokia Germany has released a new ad for the Lumia 920 that follows in the footsteps of the recent Samsung ads and chooses to mock the iPhone as a way of advertising their own phone.
